Re: Revolver or Pistol
I like my S&W .40 cal. It's the only pistol I own. I'd like to get a 1911, but that beyond my budget at the moment.
Re: Revolver or Pistol
I have nothing at all against revolvers but I kind'a like the idea of 13+1 in my XD45

Re: Revolver or Pistol
dan wesson makes some darn fine revolvers... and having a valor in the house now, I can say, some darn fine pistols too.
But I must confess to being a wheel man. I just wish they were easier to clean.

Re: Revolver or Pistol
I voted pistol because I love me some 1911 style pistol......but if I had the money I would carry a S&W 500 with a 5 inch barrel. "GIMME ALL YOUR MONEY!!!" ".....no" "NOW FOOL" "-click-.....I suggest you poop yourself now and get it done with"
Re: Revolver or Pistol
I voted pistol b/c I've never shot a revolver. Even so, my Sig P220 is the BEST pistol ever.

Re: Revolver or Pistol
Pistol and my favorite depends on the situation. For carry I mainly use my Colt Commander cocked and locked. I switch to the Kimber Custom II if I'm going to be out doing something where I'll sweat alot.
I also love my Beretta 92 though mainly because of the way it functions. Very easy to use and I do like the DA. Keep it on my nightstand for close encounters.

No more catchy slogans for me...I am simply fed up...4...four...4...2+2...

Something you don't hear much about any more is putting your gun of choice on layaway. I wouldn't have the handguns I have without it.
With layaway, you don't have to worry about the shop selling the gun you want while you're saving your hard earned dollars. Just a thought.
Here's another pistol to consider. The FN FNP-45

Re: Revolver or Pistol
I cut my teeth on a 1911-A1 Pistol in the Marine's but I carried a revolver for many years in the Police Department. My favorite pistol right now is my Glock 23 in .40 cal. with the Crimson Trace Laser. And my favorite Revolver is my Smith & Wesson 4" Md.#686 .357 Magnum with the Crimson Trace Laser sighting. With my old eyes I no longer have to use the sight's. I just have to point and click just like on the computer.

Re: Revolver or Pistol
Got more pistols than revolvers although either will do for me. I carry either a CZ100B in 40 S&W or a Taurus Millineum Pro PT111 depending on how I feel.
Re: Revolver or Pistol
It really depends on what you are using it for. I would go with "Both"
I like carrying a S&W 38 special snubby (637) because of its size. If I need more that 5 shots, I'm way over my head anyway.
Course I wouldn't want to lose my Kimber Team Match II either and if I knew I was in danger it would certainly be by my side.
Both will do the job though.

Re: Revolver or Pistol
Doesn't matter as long as I hit the target and the bullet goes where I want it to go. That's why I practice with both pistol (Sig P225 & Colt Combat Commander) and revolver (Colt Cobra snubby). In emergency situations, I'll grab what is within easy reach and use it. It's just me.

Pistol...for me, My Glock 22 .40 S&W, with a lazermax inspires confidence in the holder, esp as with the houge grip, it is the PERFECT FIT to my hand... always close & convient, the .40 round makes it effective, the design makes it always operational, and with the lasermax...hopefully that would deter someone enough so that a pull of the trigger would be unessesary...as it will be alighting their nose in a lovely shade of red...
Revolver for the wife...she shoots .45 Long Colt out of a Uberti Cowboy reproduction, and does so with consistant results...
and when she throws on the full regalia, of the.45 on one side, .22 Colt Scout revolver on the other, and the .30-.30 over her shoulder, she is quite a sight to behold... Virginia Girl, through and through...
Lucky i am...

Be particular, and be vigilant, as the enemy will only attack on two occasions:
When you're ready or when you're not ready.
Also never forget, that everyone who shows up, is not necessarily there to help.

I'm a semi-auto guy myself, but I had a very old Sarge tell me to care a revolver so when you pistol wipe you prisoner the clip won't fall out. Well I just didn't take any prisoners!!
