No surprise here
Ted Kennedy knowing his time was short hinted to the governor of Massachusetts that the law blocking him from appointing a sucessor for at least 145 days should be changed, The irony here is that Kennedy supported that same law when Mitt Romney was governor and phony war hero Kerry was running for president so that Romny would not be able to appoint a sucessor if Kerry ( God Forbid ) had won. Of course with the Democrats in power the Governor of MA would support a change in the law if the General Assembly passed it,, It's almost amazing that they feel the laws shouldn't apply to them and should be changed to accomadate them on an as needed basis.

Laws have been changed so that Ted Kennedy would not have to go to jail. Why would anybody think that this was different.

How true,,,THe man had some serious guts even asking ,.. His walk on water status definitely went to his head, The people in Massachusetts will probably give in to it too. One big scary thing we all need to be aware of is just how much the Liberal Congress and Senate will try to get away with using his name as the catalyst to push it through playing on people's sympathy,.

Simply because only the rich, affluent, and famous can run and win. The people are often left with only choices of incumbents or well known career politicians. Running and winning a campaign costs big money and often the winner is the one with the biggest bank account. Watch the news when politicians announce their candidacy. One thing you will almost always see is how much money they have collected as opposed to the other guy.VBshooter wrote:OakRidgeStars wrote;Let's not forget the plastic war hero, John Kerry. Election reform is badly needed so regular Americans can successfully carry out a campaign and win - otherwise we will continue to see the same old faces. Yes, you can say that we are all fed up with incumbents but who gets elected depends solely on who runs. Somebody always wins and its usually the rich famous person that has name recognition.

Re: No surprise here
RIch campaigns definitley have the advantage,, IMHO there are far too many people out there who put politicians on pedestals like they are special. Sadly a common man would have little chance of nomination without the big $$$ behind them. Everything in this country has a price and politicians definitely do. Far too many lawyers have turned government into a legal shell game with full support of their like minded cronies.

Unfortunately, that's just how liberals work. They pull on heartstrings and try to get to people's sensitivities in order to push their agenda through.VBshooter wrote:One big scary thing we all need to be aware of is just how much the Liberal Congress and Senate will try to get away with using his name as the catalyst to push it through playing on people's sympathy,.

Now.,, we have to be more aware of what they try to pass all in the name of sympathy. We can;t allow common sense to be overuled in the name of it, The health care bill is a train wreck waiting to happen, I don;t care whose name they put on it, it's not going to change the damage it will cause if enacted without further input from those who oppose it,
