Would have done it again

Post by GeneFrenkle »

Regarding the alleged Culpeper shooting of Patricia Ann Cook by Daniel Harmon-Wright, the Defendant is quoted in the printed newspaper The Free Lance-Star on 26 Jan 2013 as saying "I don't feel good about [it]. I wish it didn't happen. But it did happen and, given the circumstances, I would have done it again." (Bold indicates the presumed missing word it which was not present in the printed quote)

The quote was not found in the online articles using the provided search facility.

It appears that witnesses have testified that the Officer's arm was, in fact, not trapped in the window.

I just find it odd that the cop had so many prior aliases.

UPDATE: A jury this afternoon found a former Culpeper police officer guilty of voluntary manslaughter in the shooting death of an unarmed woman last year.

As he wallows away in prison keeping a close eye on bubba in the next cell over he may rethink doing it again. Thank god he ain't gonna get another chance.

this case sounded fishy from day one, I'm glad the jury held him responsible.

When seconds count, the police are minutes away... and this jackass could be an example of what shows up.

It is terrible all around. The man has a wife and a 16 month old son that will suffer as well. I am not saying that he gets off the hook on that account, just that I hurt for them too. It is terrible. He did something terrible that day. He took relatively innocent life on precious little cause. I also think that culpepper county is accountable for this as well. They were deficient in their hiring practices, they were deficient in the training, they were deficient in the supervision of police.

It's not unique to Culpeper. Remember the dude from Ohio that was threatening to execute the concealed permit holder. Last I heard, he was (under consideration?) for being rehired (as a desk jockey?). It had something to do with the disabilities act and the dude says he has PTSD. I might be wrong, however.

Any other business would never consider hiring a litigation liability like that.

Daniel Harmon-Wright given 3-year sentence.

12 months for each of the offenses...the minimum allowed by law for those offenses

I found at http://www.fauquier.com/index.php/news/ ... urder_case

" The defense attorney representing the former Culpeper police officer called for a mistrial earlier in the week after some of the jurors allegedly used a dictionary during deliberation to look up the meaning of the word "malice.""

Hey, User... aren't you Harmon-Wright's attorney? If you can clarify for me, why would looking up a word in a dictionary be objectionable?

The way I understand it is that the jury recommended 3 years and the judge by law can reduce the sentence but not increase it so in theory they judge sentenced him to max of what was allowed.

"Harmon-Wright faced up to 25 years in prison. A judge is scheduled to sentence Harmon-Wright on April 10. The judge could decrease the jury’s recommended sentence but not increase it."

Wow 36 months? Really? I have more time left on my vehicle payment. I'm sick of dirty f*** pigs getting off of poop that would put me and you up for life. They all hide behind the f*** blue shield like they are untouchable. I hope someone in prison f*** him to death and hangs this sick prick with his own entrails from the roof of his cell.

Do you really think 36 months was just because he was a police officer in a small town or a good defense lawyer that was able to convince a jury that 36 months was appropriate?
