The Managemant/cowards @ Reed promotions have banned all "assault type" weapons and or military weapons from the great Eastern Outdoor Show at Harrisburg, PA in February 2013. In the past I always looked forward to attending this show, but not this year, I will boycott this show and suggest anyone that was going... do the same. Reed promotions like the present communist administration on Capital Hill would have you believe there is no need for civilians to own these types of weapons, and your second ammendment rights really only apply to hunting. These turncoats are trying to put distance between these weapons and their show. SHAMEFUL! Hit em where it hurts...at the ticket box!!

Elsewhere on the internet I've read that Cabela's has decided not to sponsor that show this year - because of the banning of black rifles by the promoters.
Also, some smaller companies have decided not to participate either. Perhaps, if enough of them do it, the management will feel it in their wallets and change their minds.
Kind of true isn't it. For some people they only way to get their attention is to start at the part of their body they sit on. As the wallet gets thinner, it may sink in why its easier to sit down.

Don't just not show up, but let them know why you're not showing up. If ticket sales are down even with other gun shows booming, they may be dumb enough to think the dip is because of a poor economy.

From the front page of their website:
People aren;t happy on their facebook page, either: http://www.facebook.com/EasternSports?ref=streamAs a hunting-focused event, we welcome exhibitors who wish to showcase products and firearms that serve the traditional needs of the sport. Clearly, we strongly support the 2nd Amendment. However, this year we have made the decision not to include certain products that in the current climate may attract negative attention that would distract from the strong focus on hunting and fishing at this family-oriented event and possibly disrupt the broader positive experience of our guests.

Wanna let them know?
inquiry@reedexpo.com
I sent this:
Dear Reed Exhibitions,
I recently found out that you were prohibiting certain types of firearms from being shown a the future EOS at Harrisburg.
This was pertaining military styled semi-autos from being exhibited because of their appearance. They function EXACTLY the same as any other semi-auto hunting weapon.
Because of your decision to do so, my family and I have decided to pass on attending the EOS this year. Hopefully, you'll find the error in this decision to keep certain vendors/firearms from exhibit, and realize that quite a few of us attend to see ALL that's available, not just what's for "hunting". This action by you cause the entire area's merchants to lose a source of revenue.
***********************************************
If I didn't want them to take it seriously, I would have added "And pound glassy shards of sand".
I cannot stand someone making a decision for me, without my input. On top of that? If you're a member of the firearms community, know those who support your products have your back!
It friggin' kills me that Dick's Sporting Goods, Cheaper Than Dirt, and these yahoos decided FOR ME! Because why? They wanna be liked by NON-GUN folk?!?! Um... Check yourself at the door, WHO IS YOUR CUSTOMER?!!?

I sent a similar reply too.
Re: Harrisburg GEOS bans all military firearms fro the show.
I will be visiting a Cabela store during that weekend instead...make sure to say thanks to them when you do the same.
Re: Harrisburg GEOS bans all military firearms fro the show.
Someone should go and document all the military guns.
The Flintlock, this was used in the revolution.
The caplock, this was used in the civil war.
The bolt action rifles, most of which have a modified Mauser action.
The semi-auto rifles, most of which use patents from Browning's BAR.
Then go to the organizers and protest, telling them that you are going to tell the news papers. Just to screw with them.
