That's pretty telling.

Tennessee, and Texas are looking better, and better.

Not to mention that if I move to Texas I gain some $25K-$35K (depending on place) using the cost of living calculators...Reverenddel wrote:Tennessee, and Texas are looking better, and better.
All political power comes from the barrel of a gun. The communist party must command all the guns, that way, no guns can ever be used to command the party - Mao Tse Tung

USA Today is also streaming the "debate". One of the reps is bringing up the civil disobedience angle and asking if they plan on sending out LEOs to confiscate. Mentioning that he's heard from many of them saying they don't want to because they fear for their safety.

I had hoped for calmer heads to prevail, forgot that you needed a brain in those heads, and Politicans just working without one.

Uh-huh, what I thought. Glad I live where I do, if I have to leave I know where I am headed.

Not mention that there are no state income taxes in Texas. That was the best part of living in Texas when I did.kelu wrote:Not to mention that if I move to Texas I gain some $25K-$35K (depending on place) using the cost of living calculators...Reverenddel wrote:Tennessee, and Texas are looking better, and better.

apparently there's a lot more going on at the state level though. NRA sent me an email listing all the bills being introduced into the VA senate this session that have anything to do with firearms, self defense, or hunting. i haven't verified any of the info yet but there were all kinds of bills- bans on "assault weapons" bans on semi auto pistols, internet ammo sales, etc

I think the dems always have stuff like this going on. Introduce bills that will go no where in the state legislature, but the can go back to Norfolk or Arlington and say "I tried", not that we should be any less vilgilante.

Here are some of the bills being considered by VA. I got this info from the latest VCDL alert.
BILLS VCDL STRONGLY OPPOSES
• HB 1326 Concealed handgun permits; firearms safety courses.
• HB 1410 Firearms; possession of weapons following conviction of certain crimes, penalty.
• HB 1662 Libraries; locality to adopt an ordinance that prohibits firearms, ammunition, etc. in.
• HB 1693 Firearms; removes specific exception for possession on public school property, penalty.
• HB 2025 Firearms; requires background check for any purchase.
• HB 2207 Sale, transfer, etc., of certain firearms and firearms magazines; penalty.
BILLS VCDL STRONGLY SUPPORTS
• HB 1391 Possession of handguns in legislative buildings. VCDL only supports AS INTRODUCED
• HB 1557 School boards; training for persons designated to carry concealed handguns on school property.
BILLS VCDL IS NEUTRAL ON
• HB 1679 Concealed handgun permit; exception retired investigator of security division of Lottery Department.
Plus on Monday January 21, members are gathering in Richmond for Lobby Day at the General Assembly Building. If your a VCDL member, I hope to see you there. If you aren't a member, come out anyway and show your support. For those of you that have a concealed carry permit, it is lawful to carry into the General Assembly.
I have to admit that in 59 years, this is the first time that I have been active in political lobbying and/or protesting. I spent 20 years of my life defending the Constitution of the United States. I see no reason to stop defending it now.
