Richmond gunshow...

Post by Reverenddel »

After working gunshow's for 10 years, going to them for 30...I have NEVER seen it like today!

The line at 09:00 was looped on itself TWICE!

I stood at the door giving VCDL "Gun Saves Lives" stickers, and we went thru THOUSANDS of them! I think we gave out 11k of them by 11:00...

The prices? Ridiculous. I over paid on some stuff, but not more than I was comfortable. I'm not sure others were so fortunate. Every one was either selling spare "evil black rifles" or buying them.

Ammo was STUPID expensive, but the ammo I wanted wasn't the "popular" kind!

When lil' old' ladies were saying "I'm old, they ain't taking my guns, my property, or me, without a fight.", then going in, and buying AR-15's. When GRANDMA is packing an AR? Yeah, it's gotten that bad.

At this point? If I were Anti-Gun... and laid eyes on all those "GSL" orange circles, and in every hand a weapon, I'd rethink running my mouth.

I drove by this morning on the way to an appointment and parking looked ridiculous. Line out to the street just to get into the joint. Drove by about an hour later and parking still looked ridiculous and there was still a line to get in. Crazy stuff.

I was considering going to pick up a couple of spare mags for my M&P 9mm. Wasn't sure if anyone would have them. Do you think it's worth the hassle?
Thanks

Tomorrow afternoon, at 14:00... no guarantees anything is left, but many people were just buying one, and two things, and walking out immediately.

Mags were going fast. Ammo was going fast. If it was a Semi-auto, black, or phosphate, matte finished it was going fast.

When Henrico PD shut down the lot because the amount of people leaving didn't equal the amount of people showing up? Yeah.

I parked in the "Big Lots" parking lot, and hall'd in from there.

I was going with 3 buddies...We got there early hoping to beat the crowd...HA. I made a quick decision and dropped them off and left. I went to Cracker Barrel and had a nice breakfast and way too much Coffee . Ended up at Green Top and then to Bass Pro Shop ( Had to use my Christmas Gift Card ). 12:30 still no call from Buddies at Gun Show so I go to Richmond Harley Davidson to kill some more time . Finally picked the Gun Show Guy's up at 3:45.....They looked beat ! They said you had to stand in a line everywhere... even in the men's room. Payed too much for everything purchased , but all seemed happy !

I was going down too but found some ammo in stock at one of my local Walmarts so I decided not to make the hour drive. Sounds like it was a good decision.

My curiousity? Why there was NO MEDIA there!?!?

Oh! They LOVE to show 5-10 people protesting guns on TV with all dramatic flair, but when I was walking thru the parking lot, and saw THOUSANDS of people walking towards ONE building to buy AMMO, MAGS, and FIREARMS, my thought was:

"If you showed this on TV, the Anti's would realize their efforts are futile."

Which is probably why they DID NOT!

When the lil' old lady looked me square in the face, and said "...they ain't taking my guns, my property , or me." And dude she had to be in her 60's... and carrying an AR dressed out, with a bag of Pmags...

If there were a conflict coming, I'd say we've got an army.

The Japanese Admiral was correct in saying behind every blade of grass, there lies a rifle in wait.

Can't wait to see the video on YouTube. You did make a video right?

If the media won't cover these stories I guess it's up to us and have them go viral.

Japanese Admiral Yamamoto.

Educated in the US, Yamamoto advised against any invasion of the US mainland, stating (as a previous poster provided) that there would be a gun behind every blade of grass.
