Unions in Nevada registering illegal aliens to vote
Unions in Nevada registering illegal aliens to vote
Very disturbing if true:
http://politics.blogs.foxnews.com/2012/ ... ada-voting
Just hours before voters go to the polls in the battleground state of Nevada, a national group has announced it plans to file a complaint regarding illegal immigrants purportedly being allowed to vote.
ALIPAC, Americans for Legal Immigration PAC, based in Raleigh, N.C., sent the Nevada secretary of state an email outlining its intention.
"We want to stop the felonious thefts of American elections," says William Gheen, ALIPAC's president.
Gheen points to a commentary published in Sunday's Las Vegas Review Journal. In it, editorial writer Glenn Cook accuses the Culinary Union 226 of knowingly registering illegal immigrants and then pressured them to vote.
Cook quotes an unidentified illegal immigrant who is on the Clark County voter rolls. The person claims a union representative told them they were "in so much trouble" for refusing to vote.
Catherine Lu, a spokesperson for Nevada Secretary of State Ross Miller, said she could not comment on Cook's editorial or ALIPAC's official complaint.
Gheen says his group wants all non U.S. citizens removed from the voter rolls before Tuesday's election. He suggested the state could use Homeland Security databases such as E-verify to do the job.
The voter in Nevada for president figures to be close. A compilation of the final polls shows President Obama with a 2.8 percent lead among likely voters. But political insiders give Obama a slightly more comfortable edge in large part because of the expected Hispanic vote.
In the last two elections, Hispanics made up 15 percent of the electorate and voted overwhelmingly for Democrats.
Gheen says Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nevada, would have been ousted in 2010 if not for illegal immigrants voting. A complaint by loser Sharon Angle did not overturn the results.
He also says his group, which has 40,000 members, will organize a boycott of Las Vegas if action is not taken.

Re: Unions in Nevada registering illegal aliens to vote
If the reporter interviewed one illegal who actually voted, how many more does it take to establish that this is a serious problem? What population n is required to prove statistically that the union did in fact knowingly register illegal aliens and threaten them if they did not vote?
This is not an exercise in statistics. If the reporter interviewed one, you can bet your life there are many more.
This election was just like they do it in Venezuela. Some day a historian will find out exactly how much fraud there was.

http://www.wnd.com/2012/11/did-voter-fr ... -election/
•In September, the Columbus Dispatch in Ohio reported this sad and ugly news: “More than one out of every five registered Ohio voters is probably ineligible to vote. In two counties, the number of registered voters actually exceeds the voting-age population: Northwestern Ohio’s Wood County shows 109 registered voters for every 100 eligible, while in Lawrence County along the Ohio River it’s a mere 104 registered per 100 eligible. Another 31 counties show registrations at more than 90 percent of those eligible, a rate regarded as unrealistic by most voting experts. The national average is a little more than 70 percent. In a close presidential election where every vote might count, which ones to count might become paramount on Election Day – and in possible legal battles afterward.” The Dispatch asked Ohio’s chief elections official, Secretary of State Jon Husted, what could be done about this problem. His answer? Not enough. Nine months ago, he asked U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder for a personal meeting to discuss how to balance seemingly conflicting federal laws so he could pare Ohio’s dirty voter list without removing truly eligible voters. Holder’s office never even bothered to reply – to either Husted or the newspaper. What does that tell you? It tells me voter fraud is and was an important tactic in re-electing Holder’s boss and Democrats throughout the country. Anyway, we all know how Ohio voted.

Re: Unions in Nevada registering illegal aliens to vote
I've talked to two people who voted in early voting in North Carolina. They both told me they were not asked for any ID. My daughter told me there was nothing to stop her from voting as many times as she wanted.

Re: Unions in Nevada registering illegal aliens to vote
I understand 100% why the Voting Rights Act of 1965 got put into place. Fortunately, things are different now, and yes, we do need to ensure that people who are voting are actually eligible voters. However, we do need to avoid the specter of the "poll tax" ever coming back. My Dad can tell you all about that one.
Fortunately, there's a solution to that, and I believe it would pass Constitutional muster. It's a specific way of doing Voter ID.
Everyone gets a State ID issued to them by their DMV or DOL or whatever other State Agency does that. There is no charge for the first one. It is not a driver's license. There is an indicator on there that says, "Citizen" or "Perm Resident" or "Work Permit" or whatever. Maybe this could be simply limited to "Citizen" or "Non-Citizen"--however would work best. If you want to convert that State ID to a Driver's License, then you pay the driver's license fee, just like we do today.
Voting time comes. Everyone shows their State ID's or Driver's Licenses. Those with the "Citizen" indicator, and who live in that voting precinct, they vote. Those who don't, don't vote. PERIOD.
Since the State ID is free of charge to residents of that State, there is no "poll tax" to worry about. Renewals of State ID's are also free (drivers' licenses keep the current fee). If you actually lose your State ID, you pay a nominal replacement fee, the same as the driver's license fee.
What do you all think? Is this something that we should promote for the next VA Legislative session?

Re: Unions in Nevada registering illegal aliens to vote
I think a solution like this where the State ID is free will end up being more common. The number of people who were born without birth certificates or their birth certificate is in another state or destroyed or whatever preventing them to get a State ID is shrinking every year which also helps push State ID being used to vote along.CowboyT wrote:I understand 100% why the Voting Rights Act of 1965 got put into place. I will say though that since Obama would not be elected if there was a poll tax ( that was totally color blind and it could be done. You are either a producer or moocher) and thus I cant say it was all bad.
Honestly I know liberals concerns are they would lose votes but fairly do people who contribute nothing really have a right to have a say in how the government is run? I dont think so but support the current rule of law and as of now they do.

I know when my in-laws come to town and treat us to lunch, I happily drive them anywhere they want to go. They're paying so I have no vote. How to take that concept and scale it to 50 states and over 300 million people I have no idea.hairtriggerglock17 wrote:Honestly I know liberals concerns are they would lose votes but fairly do people who contribute nothing really have a right to have a say in how the government is run? It's one thing for a Democratic presidential candidate to dominate a Democratic city like Philadelphia, but check out this head-spinning figure: In 59 voting divisions in the city, Mitt Romney received not one vote. Zero. Zilch.

Re: Unions in Nevada registering illegal aliens to vote
I already get a VOTER REGISTRATION CARD, complete with an assigned ID# every few years. I assume the local registrar must issue them, but they say "COMMONWEALTH OF VIRGINIA" at the top and bear the Seal of the Commonwealth. They come unsolicited in the mail and have never cost me a nickel. I assume that all I have to do to get one is register to vote.
So what need is there for further documentation? I'm suspicious of any form of "official identification". It's too susceptible to abuse/misuse. The only loose end, it seems to me, is to assure that they are not issued to those who are not legally entitled to vote. That may need some work, as I understand a lot of dead people are still on the voting roles.

I'm sure it does happen, but in the context of this one example (allegedly a union rounding them up to vote) I really think this would have gotten more (any?) coverage this election if not for the fact it sounds really flimsy given its essentially a baseless accusation from one dude citing an unnamed illegal.hairtriggerglock17 wrote:You honestly dont think illegals vote in our elections? Sometimes there is no conspiracy.
As for Cleveland districts going 100% Obama...many of those districts are likely 100% black. The latest number reportedly is almost 141 percent, based on 247,383 "cards" being cast among 175,554 registered voters.
A "card" is one page of the two-page ballot, not one entire ballot. The total number of cards cast is not simply double the amount of voters, either, because some voters did not cast both pages. Many skipped the second page, which contained the constitutional amendments.
"Turnout percentages will show over 100 percent due to a two-page ballot," according to a note on Walker's website. "The tabulation system (GEMS) provides voter turnout as equal to the total cards cast in the election divided by the number of registered voters. Also note that some voters chose not to return by mail the second card containing the amendments."
That also accounts for why voter turnout at individual precincts is more than 100 percent.
Sometimes there is no conspiracy.
