took it to Silver Eagle yesterday to break it in with a friend..and wow..such a great shooter
I'm no marksman but it was eating out the bullseye at 20 yds; I had maybe 4 rounds out of 120 outside the pie plate; and most were nice solid groupings on or just off dead center from a standing position. It is heavier and more sturdy than my ar, but actually I think that helped, despite the larger round, recoil felt more manageable.
I will say though compared to my Ar; it isn't quite as user friendly, magazines don't slip in as easily; and don't just drop out with the push of a mag release button; the safety is more cumbersome etc. But that was all to be expected.

Still really loving it so far, I wasn't expecting it to be such a great shooter.

Just keep in mind that the 1, 2, and 3 on the rear sight are for hundreds of meters. The safety isn't meant to be constantly switched on and off, so, yea it is awkward. Your magazine well might need to be opened a bit if things don't fall right out. Another thing might be the magazines, themselves. Do they fall out if loaded 1/2 full or unloaded? The mag might be spreading a bit. Does your spent brass have swelling around the neck? Enjoy your shooter, they are a lot of fun!

You might need to file fit your mags, especially if you're using Tapco's. A little tweak should be all they need.

@gene frenkle -the magazines fit snugly in; they aren't dropping out; they just don't drop out smoothly seems more too tight a fit than loose; thanks for the tip on the sight markings


@oakridge stars - yeah I am using tapco's -so I will try filing them down a bit; also thanks for the link to that release defintely going to check it out

remember, AK mags need to be 'rocked' in unlike AR mags.

Even in bulk, I haven't been able to beat the price of buying Tula at wally world. You can get the Bears (brown and silver) online for SLIGHTLY less but you'll loose the savings in shipping. Some people claim it's dirty and not accurate, I think those people need to zero their guns and shoot with their eyes open because in thousands of rounds I've never had an issue with accuracy and the gun is pretty clean when I'm done.
