Sandy vs. Obama

Post by JonStuck »

The following was written by one of the best men I have ever had the privilege to know.
-----------------------------------------------

Frankenstorm. Megastorm.

Hurricane Sandy was the most terrifying storm ever seen in the history of storm-watching, so awful that we needed new words to describe her. She was a beast over a thousand miles wide - that is a full third of the United States, or four times the width of Great Britain. Sandy slammed into the largest city in America clocking winds over 90 miles per hour in what the news described as nature's doomsday scenario. She cut a swath of devastation across a dozen states, spawning blizzards and floods, leaving much of the east coast ripped apart, underwater and without power. The death toll has hit 39 and the damage is expected to top twenty billion dollars.

Let's put those two numbers into perspective.

39 dead; a horrific tragedy by any measure. It is nearly 13% of the 300+ fatalities officially attributed to the Fast and Furious program, whose victims included Mexican high school and college students as well as an American law enforcement officer, all slaughtered with guns illegally provided to Mexican drug cartels by the Obama Administration. It is no wonder that Attorney General Eric Holder still hides behind the unexplained protection of Barack Obama while in contempt of Congress for refusing to explain how all that happened. In addition to the F&F fatalities are four heroic Americans at the Libya embassy, denied the protection they repeatedly begged for prior to the attack, only to then be denied rescue for seven hours while they were being raped and murdered as the White House wordlessly watched through the eyes of a UAV.

Twenty BILLION dollars. Wow, that's more money than most of us can readily imagine. If you earned a hundred thousand dollars a year, you would have to work for two hundred thousand years to earn that much money. With that in mind, consider that twenty billion dollars is a little less than ONE PERCENT of the current projected cost of Obamacare, despite being sold to America at a fraction of that price. Conversely, twenty billion dollars is less than ONE-THIRD OF ONE PERCENT of the amount of money the Obama administration has added to the national deficit in just four years.

Giving credit where it is due, twenty billion dollars is actually MORE than the paltry 6.9 billion dollars of taxpayer money that Obama lost on bad investments like Solyndra, Beacon, Evergreen Solar, Spectra Watt and Eastern Energy, ALL of which went bankrupt after being handed mountains of our hard-earned money.

On the day Sandy hit, the collective mis-management of the Obama Administration added roughly $5.8 billion dollars to the taxpayer's burden. But while Sandy was a once-in-history event, Obama's decisions relentlessly pile an average 5.8 billion more dollars onto our mountain of debt each and every day, weekends included. If Obama stopped cold-turkey this minute, Sandy would have to go back out to sea and hit America every day for a year and a half to catch up.

Like any American, our hearts go out to all of those who were impacted by Hurricane Sandy. The suffering up and down the East Coast is horrific. That does not however, diminish the harm inflicted on all of us by a man who has undeniably proven himself incompetent to lead in matters of business or security. This is not about politics or being trendy, it is sheer survival; we cannot survive a repeat of the last four years. One of two men will lead us; help elect the one who has proven he can pick a winner in business time after time. A man who can repeatedly build business empires can rebuild our economy and allow us to reclaim our future. Vote for Mitt Romney and give us some real hope for a change.
