Colt XSE Lightweight Commander
Picked this up yesterday for my new carry gun. Very nice shooter. I did have a feed problem with the last round on a full mag of 8 but I think that might go away after a little use. I took 100 rounds of .45 with me when I went as I was shopping for a .45. I noticed when I took them out of my bag that they were Federal EFMJ +P. It ate them right up. No problems with recoil either. Very nice feel and balance.

Never met a 1911 I didn't like. Very nice

Nice
Now for some carry ammo get you some federal Tacticals. That is what they gave me at DeGoffs when I bought my XD when I asked for "plinking ammo". They do have some rather stiff recoil.

Thanks! I shot about 75 of the federal tactical EFMJ +P yesterday. Not too bad on the recoil but did have some noticeable flash. I've got more of those and some winchester silvertips. I'm thinking about a pachmayr glove but dont want to hide those pretty grips. Besides I'm not going to be doing a lot of plinking with this one.Vahunter wrote:NiceNow for some carry ammo get you some federal Tacticals. That truly is one beautiful piece of hardware you picked up. If you don't mind me asking, what did it set you back?
One of these days I'm going to have myself a 1911.

Re: Colt XSE Lightweight Commander
Not a bad price for a Colt. Did you pick it up at SharpShooters? OR maybe the Dulles Show?

I've got plenty of brass and primers. I'd love to go make more brass today but have other things I've got to do.Vahunter wrote:You could always plink with the load I gave you.

She's a beaut! Not having looked it up, how light is "lightweight"? I like the no-snag rear sight, also.

I think its 26 oz. Its got an aluminum frame thats a very light green with the stainless slide. I really love it. Its a little lighter than the steel frame version. I had to hold it for a few minutes in the store before I could tell the difference with the steel frame model.gorknoids wrote:She's a beaut! Not having looked it up, how light is "lightweight"?
