Our Amassador was killed!!!

Post by mamabearCali »

Holy cow. Our ambassador to Lybia was murdered. The Obama admin condemns the attack, and give condolences to the family. I am sorry, maybe they are planning a more robust response later, but this is more than a "ooops so sorry moment". The killing of an ambassador is an act of war. As far as I am concerned you kill an ambassador you should get a missile for breakfast. Why is this presidents response so spineless? Even for a democrat. This was not a toutist killed, this was not a contractor killed, this was not a peacekeeping solldier killed, this was our ambassador to that nation. He was our representative of good will to that country.

This really steams me. If our president can't muster up the guts for something better than "bad boy bad boy---naughty naughty" for the killing o a US ambassador he does not deseerve that chair he sits in.

I remember a saying "A Roman Citizen fears no one in his travels, because the weight of the entire Legion rides behind him."

Too bad we don't have that kind of feeling.

Well at the moment I am fine with carpet bombing the entire city where it happened. However I am sure my anger will moderate in a few days and a few missiles would do the trick very nicely.

Wasnt just the Ambassador...three others were also killed. Lets see how quickly American muslims show up on TV to condem this act. Oh wait...you mean that probably wont happen?

Yeah, instead of getting all of the information, seeing what options are available, and developing a strategy let's just turn the whole country into a big parking lot to retaliate for an event that happened 12 hours ago.

This is an interesting situation. Who do you focus those missiles on? It wasn't a government hit. Hell, the government is in shambles. Do you go in and start wiping out the civilians? Go door to door with a simple yes or no question - Do you like the United States and the wrong answer gets a bullet to the head? Are we that type of country now? Big question is why do we still have these people in such unstable countries?

The Roman citizen saying doesn't apply anymore because the world is entirely different now. Back then it was Rome and everyone under Rome's thumb. I bet those people didn't like the way Rome was taking over their lands and treating them. The propaganda line that Mussolini made the trains run on time also sounds great until you see what type of government there was to make that happen. The United States wasn't designed by its founding fathers to throw its weight around like Rome or Hitler's Germany. Now there's an international community you have to deal with. A lot of the international community (and many Americans) are tired of us going into countries. Iraq, Afghanistan, now Libya? When does it end?

Now THERE'S a telling contrast for you..................

When Dubyah was POTUS, Libya, even under the reckless dictator Khadafi, voluntarily relinquished its weapons of mass destruction to make DAMN sure they didn't tug on the US Superman's cape. Now, with Barack Obama running around bowing to Arab potentates, intervening on behalf of the current Libyan regime at the oreders of the UN, cravenly cutting and running in a way that squandered our investment of lives and treasure in Iraq and Afghanistan, apologizing for all things American, and generally being a limp-wristed maybe-not-Christian and even maybe-not-even-American, rabble in that same country have raided and despoiled our embassy and murdered our Ambassador.

Welcome to the progressive Weltpolitik. Hope you're enjoying the ride.

I understand where you are coming from Shotgunblast. However, I believe Mamabearcali really just wants a better response the oh shucks that sucks. The president should get mad and start asking some hard hitting questions. He should show the world or anyone that would want to harm one of ours that we are not just going to roll over and take it in the ass after they dick slapped us. Now does that mean we need to bomb them into oblivion, that is up for debate... however we do need to respond with requiring a real inquiry, and finding those that are accountable for such a horrible event. We need to see that some one is willing to stick up for Us as a country, and in my opinion it should be the POTUS.

My two cents... for what it is worth.

Exactly....I understand we cant just bomb as a knee jerk reaction, but for Pete's sake you don't offer sympathy to the murderers of a US ambassador. You don't treat it like nothing. It is an act of war! Treat it as such.

OK, so our consensus here is that the US should be calm and deliberate, get all of the information, see what options are available, and develop a strategy; AND THEN BOMB THE SH!T OUT OF 'EM!

Good advice, ShotguinBlast. :hysterical:

That's cool.

1. Both Obama and Clinton gave statements condemning the attack, which is generally what is used for media soundbytes. I don't see anyone offering sympathy to the murderers. Here's the transcript.

http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-501708_162- ... consulate/

2. You and I don't know what's going on at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave, what questions are being asked, or how angry the POTUS is.

3. By comparison, what did Bush say after such a horrible act drove planes into buildings on our soil and killed over 3000 people that showed the world we are not just going to roll over and take it in the ass after they dick slapped us? Um, pretty general statements that the media also used for soundbytes.

So here's a guy that acts calm and gives general statements condemning the attack, but we know now what kind of intelligence gathering and strategizing was going on in the background. Time will tell if Obama does the same thing. But to fly off and say he's limp-wristing this so soon after it happened is crazy.

Well at least Hillary seems to have gotten her ducks in a row. That mollifies me a bit. Still that first statement and the statement about the embassy attacks (where the apology for the stupid movie occurs) rankles me.

I can come up with a quick, easy 4 step strategy:

1. Remove all Americans from Libya, no ifs, ands or buts, including all reporters. Have every idiot that chooses to stay sign a statement acknowledging the danger and their full acceptance of responsibility for their actions. We didn't leave them to die, they chose to stay.

2. Stop all aid from U.S. both governmental and from various aid organizations, no Americans will set foot across the borders of Libya, no aid will either.

4. Deport all Libyans here on student visas, guest workers, etc.. The only Libyans allowed to stay are the ones that have already applied for asylum.

4. Mark the Embassy compound as U.S. property, enter at risk of death. Wait and watch the U.S. Embassy, Once the party has started and they start to loot and vandalize the embassy, they will probably even try to burn it down at some point, turn the embassy into a crater. Drop a lot of leaflets stating any attempted construction on the Embassy site will meet the same fate.

What most Americans don't understand about the Muslim mentality is:
There will be no peace as long as they hate Americans and Israelis more than they love their children.
You just have to ask yourself, is he telling you the truth based on knowledge and experience or spreading internet myths?

Well...at the moment Lybia is the place where our ambassador was murdered. If another country wants to volunteer for missile strikes then they can line up. We can hope that by. Shoe of strength other dingbats will think twice.

Embassies used to have detachments of US Marines for security. Is this still the case? Whatever the answer to this question, there are more questions behind it.
