Range report: Savage 93R17 BTVS @ SEG

Post by Mindflayer »

Took my new Savage 93R17 BTVS to Silver Eagle Group today to do a function test and somewhat sight in the scope. It was pretty busy at SEG tonight with a corporate group in Range 3, meaning that only Range 2 was open to members. A bit of a bummer, since I wanted to shoot the 50 yard Range 1.

The rifle is an absolute joy to shoot. It's my first .17 HMR, and man, oh man, I can tell it may not be our last. My fiancée didn't really understand the thrill of small calibers but after shooting with a scope, controlling breathing, and so on, she's hooked.

This is her shooting at 25 yards.

I already love this rifle. I think it looks good and it certainly shoots well.

Took it back out today. Dialed in the scope a bit:

That's 6 rounds, and purposely shot high for the longer MPBR. A couple of off ones from allergies. Loving this rifle.

Unsafe piece of crap, don't shoot it anymore. It needs to be recycled, and I have a facility on hand to do just that, no charge. Safety first, you know.
