Fasten your seatbelts....it is going to get bumpy

Post by gearup »

Well here is a beauty. Today in Norfolk two men in a Rite Aid appearently get in an argument and pull out guns and shoot each other. This is just the sort of thing that gets the gun grabbers going. I get outraged when I hear this kind of stuff.

This then:
The DC shooting,
The Louisanna shooting

It is going to get bumpy so hold on............

"Today in Norfolk..." sums it up well. Norfolk, a little bit of Chicago in Virginia.

Oh anything is possible, but that is not the point. My issue is that the media will only tell it like a verbal confrontation gone bad. This will support their rivers of blood in the streets crap.

Regardless of how we all feel about our rights this kind of crap makes it increasingly difficult to defend our views. For many it is not about rights and the law it really boils down to perception.

I smell a Rite-Air carry ban in our future.

As usual, the MSM is missing the point, or suppressing it. When animal colonies become over crowded or otherwise stressed, they turn against each other. For example, rat colonies will turn to cannibalism. Chimp colonies begin to fling poo which may escalate to violence. Right now the average American is not facing a very rosy future. New graduates face an extended job search. Those who are employed are living with the constant fear of being downsized in an era where becoming jobless is not an inconvenience, it's a death sentence.

Add to that being bombarded by FUD news about the drought, the debt crisis in Europe, graft and corruption throughout the Government and the blatant favoritism being paid to immigrants (legal and illegal) and it is a wonder we haven't seen more instances of mass violence.

Decisive action has to be taken: the crushing regulations on industry must be removed in order to re-create jobs, illegal aliens must be removed from the job pool, the H1-B visa program has to be dismantled, and (you probably didn't see this coming) the Federal requirements for paper certifications such as PMP, Security+, ITIL v3 and CISSP have to be repealed. These requirements trickle down to the private sector and encourage the hiring of test-takers and discourage the hiring of real talent.

I fear that the time in between now and the elections will continue to see escalating violence (by many means) and that the night of the Election will be rocky, regardless of who wins.

I'll agree with that statement.

When society has NOTHING to offer you, and it's beating you down, why follow it's rules? It's a lack of faith, values, and morals.

Sometimes you have to be the better person, even if that means walking away.

Hmmm... After reading Colorado's history, I'm inclined to believe Benn.

Well since a cop was involved we shall see if this is even cleared up by christmas, going with the culpepper case. Funny though, like the shooting by cops at the costco, were the cameras not working there either?

Smells like a clean shoot to me, too... And all of this could have been prevented with a polite "Excuse me, are you in line?"

Bah - I should give up armchair judging.

The Virginian-Pilot (PilotOnline.com/HamptonRoads.com) have very long article about this dated Sunday Oct. 7.

Man killed in Rite-Aid shooting had history of conflict
To Ramon Colorado's family, he was a loving husband and father, politically outspoken and passionate about his beliefs.

"He kept snacks in the house for all the kids in the neighborhood," his sister Bonita Houmita of Chesapeake said.

To others, he was a frightening threat.

Colorado, 42, died in an Aug. 16 shootout in a Rite Aid on Tidewater Drive that police said started as a dispute over a place in line.

Documents spanning four years and recent interviews show he had been banned from the Norfolk Department of Development, PETA and all Virginia Beach school property. The Threat Assessment Team at Eastern Virginia Medical School reviewed his social media postings following a series of incidents that struck fear in others or led them to question his sanity. One incident led to a criminal charge: A student at EVMS went to a magistrate to report that Colorado had harassed her online with sexual vulgarities.

The day after the Rite Aid shooting, police announced that Bernell Benn, 42, was being charged with second-degree murder. Police said Benn shot Colorado, who returned fire and collapsed. Surveillance video from inside the store is part of the investigation and has not been made public.

Benn maintains that he fired in self-defense after Colorado pepper-sprayed him near the pharmacy and followed him through the store saying, "I've got more for you, bro." Benn, who had no criminal record, remains in Norfolk City Jail without bond. A judge is expected to rule on a bond appeal this week. (10/7/12)
