Nevada moviegoer accidentally shoots himself in buttocks

Post by ShotgunBlast »

A 56-year-old man watching The Bourne Legacy at a Nevada movie theater accidentally shot himself in the buttocks when his gun fell out of his pocket and discharged, the Reno Gazette-Journal reports.

Come on people! Is it too much to have your firearm in a secure holster so this type of stuff doesn't happen? I'm glad he shot himself instead of someone else. Don't give the gun control nuts more ammo for their cause.

I hate to say this, but carrying in a proper holster is an IQ test, and anyone who carries loose like that isn't smart enough to carry at all.

Exactly. And if it were on the floor, how would it have magically hit him rather than someone else?

He was playing with it in his pants and caught the trigger. Since he's too stupid to carry properly, you can't be surprised that he tells a stupid lie about it, too.

Or he was carrying a super cheap gun, some and I hate his term, Saturday night special, or something.

PS: Meant to say "unbelievable"

I wouldn't go that far with it. Some folks just haven't had a reason to think about it. That said, having spent the past year on this forum, I've been given plenty of reasons to think about it and every handgun I'll ever come to possess will damn sure be holstered when I'm carrying it.

Keep in mind that I'm making a moral, common-sense argument, not a legal one. As a libertarian, I believe that idiots have the right to risk shooting themselves in the butt or the nuts - as long as they pay for the damage and don't ask taxpayers or healthcare providers to bail them out.
