Long Gun Purchase In North Carolina ??

Post by motleyxfil »

I plan to attend the Raleigh gun show this weekend, to look for a pump shotgun. As a Virginia resident, am I allowed to purchase a long gun in North Carolina? I has bought curio & relic firearms with my 03 FFL there before, but I am unsure as to the law governing modern out of state purchases. Thanks for any help.

VA doesn't care one way or another if you buy a long gun in NC, or any other state for that matter. Whether or not NC will sell it to you is a different story. The federal government made it legal to purchase long guns in a state that you do not reside in but the purchase is still governed by state laws.

Yes you can buy a long gun in NC. If you have a conceal permit they don't do the instant check on you either. Been there done that.
