If I want to purchase a handgun from another private citizen, do I need to do anything special like have an FFL transfer it etc? Both seller and I live in Virginia.
Similar, my son gave me a handgun. Do I need to do any kind of transfer?
Thanks

That bill of sale is a great thing. I'd never sell/buy privately without one.
