Just joined just now. I spent far too many years in the People's Republic of Maryland, but I'm now residing in Lynchburg. I have a feeling at least one real-life friend is already on here, though I might be getting confused with this guy being on just about every other forum imaginable. And I'll add that I'm one of those that had a girlfriend (now wife) get me into all things firearm-related.
True story: When I first visited my now-wife's family, her dad was handloading .308 Winchester. I had no idea what was going on. I started thinking about shows like CSI, wondering if this was a way to fool ballistics forensic experts. Suddenly, those jokes about none of her other boyfriends surviving didn't sound so hilarious.
Of course, hindsight being 20/20, it's freaking hilarious now. This is an appropriate way to break the ice, I would hope?

Welcome! Lynchburg is a lovely area. Went to college there. Not much for jobs in this economy, but nice all the same. You'll never get bored going to the same place to eat. Wife's family is from there and we drive out every now and again to see them.
