OC @ chesterfield county fairground?

Post by YoungGunVA »

Hey all,
First off, happy independence day! I have a question I'm hoping someone can help me with. I've looked but haven't found any definite answer. Me and the wife are planning to go the chesterfield fairgrounds tonight for the fireworks show and being independence day I am open carrying for the day. My question is this. Does anyone know if firearms are permitted at the fairgrounds as long as the county fair is not going on? I found the PDF from the .gov saying that firearms are not allowed at the fair itself but not sure if that means the fairgrounds all together no matter what the occasion. Also, being that parking is across the street at L.C Bird high school I know I cannot carry there so is there another option for parking? I've only ever parked at the school and that was before I started carrying. Hopefully I can get an answer before we go tonight, otherwise I'll probably just try to fight the crowd at colonial heights :/.

If there's no reply in a few days I'll take that as a "yes" and a "not good". :packin:

Hey guys! Didn't find out :/ they had all roads to the fairgrounds blocked off. I guess it got packed early. I CCd anyway since I still hadn't learned anything. We ended up at an office building across from chesterfield court house and could hardly see the fireworks haha. Had to drive up route 10 a bit back towards Chester but found a good spot to watch. No worries though, the fact that we have the right to carry at all is good enough for me :). Did OC at target, wal mart, and wawa though with no issue.

I haven't OC'd since I moved to Chester... I use to OC all the time in Carytown when I lived there... Pissed the Hippies off, but the cops, and shop owners for the most part didn't mind.

Plus, before they allowed CC' in places that served alcohol, I didn't have a CHOICE Either!

Thank you VCDL! :first:

I've never had any issue anywhere I OCd in Chester. Granted, it's not often as CC is my method of choice but target, wal mart, wawa, sheetz, all the little gas stations, brocks BBQ, and k mart have all been without incident. (goes to show how much I OC, I remember everywhere I've done it!)
