Yes sir. I used to work for a carnival. At the end of the day, whoever runs that rides is searching the ground. He'll find plenty of money, as well as cigarettes, lighters, cell phones, drugs, and other random pocket fodder. It's what is known as "Ride Shake". Some ride jocks make the ride as bumpy as possible in hopes of emptying your pockets.

As to the scariness, nothing beats a Zipper. Zippers are notorious for falling apart during operation, earning them the nickname of "Deadliest Ride on the Midway".

Ride jocks on rides like that make $200 or $300 a week from loose change on the ground. More, if it's a really busy day. Also, vomit isn't as common as you'd think. It's totally worth it.
