What's a Orvillecopter?

Post by OakRidgeStars »

What to do when your cat runs out of lives?. Turn him into a flying drone, of course. :hysterical:

I heard about this on my morning drive today. Crazy stuff. I couldn't imagine doing that to a pet of mine.

Would love to fly that into a PETA rally.

Any cat that would stand still for that is a GOOD cat.

It's very funny, that's what it is. And brilliant. And it's the hottest viral article on the interwebz this week.

OK, so ProShooter and Riposite are "Cat People". No shame in that; it's all a matter of taste and preference. Personally, I detest the damn things; and I'm allergic to them. I'd never mistreat one, but I have NO compassion for the cussed thangs. And in my judgment, cats don't give a tinker's damn about humans, either. They just allow humans to be their servant; feeding and petting them on demand if and only if it is done on their terms. And besides, the one in that video is DEAD (hence my remark that it is a "good" cat - sorry if I offended, buy that's my take on cats). I can't say I'm revolted or disgusted by it. But I can't imagine somebody handling a dead cat enough to accomplish that Orvillecopter. That MIGHT BE a little sick......

its the fact someone took a dead cat and made a toy out of it that bugs me -if it had been a dog or even a dirty liberal I'd feel the same way

but i also find those people who taxidermy their dead pets and keep them around disturbing too

it's not so much the choice of an animal as it's the playing with dead things

I wish you'd been with me one time out in West Tennessee. I was on my way to Reelfoot Lake to go duck hunting and passing through the area right around Al Gore's hometown (or at least his daddy's) And there in a sporting goods store my buddy like to always stop by, they had on display the head-and-shoulder mount of some oldtimer's prize retriever. The old guy said he just couldn't bear to bury his old hunting buddy. THAT even gave ME a case of the heebie-jeebies.

It is not a cat, it is not a dead cat, it is just cat fur covering a toy. Novel idea.

Yeah, that's what taxidermy is. They take the skin (derma) of a dead animal, along with the scales or fur, and tan it as they would any leather product, then place it over a form that resembles the original animal. It's no different in my mind than taking a horse hide and forming it over a round wadding and then beating it with a wooden stick (baseball).
