338 Lapua target shooting from 1 mile

Post by allingeneral »

This is a pretty fun video to watch. I could use a nice open range like that in my back yard.

Now I think I'm probably jealous. That guy just might have a better scope than I do on my BA110.

And I KNOW I'm jealous of anybody who can find a place to do a 1-mile shot. 850 yards is the best we've been able to find so far; and that's 200 miles from home.

That's what I'm saying. I would love to have a dry lake or two!

Peacemaker in WV has a 1000 yard range, and so does Quantico

I'm fixin' to give you a little insight into one of the slight disadvantages of living in Far Southwest Virginia:

It's 420 miles from here to Quantico.

Where in West Virginia is Peacemaker?

Found Peacemaker on the 'net. Glengary, WV. That's a LOT handier for me. It's only 369 miles.

Quantico lets civilians shoot there? I'm only 2 hours from Quantico but I have nothing that could dream of stretching out to a 500 yards much less 1000. About 3 hours from Peacemaker. Hey how about shooting a Peacemaker in Peacemaker at 1000 yards? lol

They're not real accommodating about that.

They have an informal F Class shoot at the end of the month. I'm taking my .300 WinMag out at some point once I get her dialed in. Quantico is 20 minutes from my house, mostly due to traffic lights

Oh, I don't know , Jake, - I saw you shoot that Ruger one handed at 100yds and ringing steel right steady...

higher... higher.... hold a little bit higher... That's it! Did you hear it?! I swear I heard it hit that time... :hysterical:
Now is the time for all good men to get off their rusty dustys...

We continue to be exasperated by the view, apparently gaining momentum in certain circles, that armed robbery is okay as long as nobody gets hurt! The proper solution to armed robbery is a dead robber, on the scene.
