Hello fellow VGOF people,

I know I am new to this forum, however, I thought with the weather getting better maybe we could do a BBQ and Greet.

Reca and I were talking, and he asked if I would really be willing to cook. Yes I am really willing to cook. Love to do it, and would love to do it for you guys. I propose we find a park where we can have a pot luck sort of get together. The kids can play in the field on the equipment, and we can have some good food.

I will be more that happy to do the proteins, I am thinking some marinated flank steak, and some chicken.

If everyone else wants to sign up for sides, and drinks we could have a good time out in the sun.

Let me know if this is even something people want to do. If we decide to do it then I will look for a suitable site.

I'll say "yes" at this time. It will depend on where work takes me.

Sounds like a great idea to me! We did something like this in 2010 and it was a good time even though we had a bit of a rainy day.

If having it at a park, I assume OC will be acceptable...

Looking at the calendar how about Sunday July 29th, at 4pm. I will start looking into parks we can go to around here.

I believe Reca is my partner in crime on this one. =)

Why don't we have people who are/want to come comment, and tell us what they want to bring. This way we don't have one person bringing 1 bag of chips and everyone else bringing Beer. (wait, you all might like just meat and beer )

Examples of Side Items like:
Potato Salad
Macaroni Salad
Chips
Cookies
Dessert

Drinks:
Soda
Water
Beer
Etc.

This should be fun!

You could always do it at the cove... BBQ then hit the range. Only 15 min outside of winchester.

Ohh I still have my badges from DefCon for the three years I went, But that was like 10 years ago. =) Have fun.

Also I can make it first weekend of August if that is better fore everyone. Nothing is set in stone. I just wanted to make sure we cleared July 4th. As people tend to have plans already.

When you settle on a day, just let me know and I'll add it to the VGOF calendar.

Depending on when and where this happpens it could be nice to meet some fellow VGOFs. Leesalvania State park is nice. No shooting, except for the stuff, but its right off 95 and on the river.

Looks like Aug. 4th will be the day. Anyone interested in family fun type of games?

Allingeneral: Saturday August 4th is the date. We wanna meet at 3pm... we can cook and you guys can play games while I am cooking...

Then after dinner around 5pm, we can all hit the shooting range. I am cool with the Cove. Do you know if it costs money to use it?
