Any shops in Metro Richmond doing Saiga/AK conversions?

If you got a good deal or great service from a shop or range and you want to brag about them, here's the place to do it. Likewise, if you are unhappy about someone's service or feel like you've been ripped off, we want to know that too!

Any shops in Metro Richmond doing Saiga/AK conversions?

Post by snatale42 »

I was thinking about going through with the AK conversion on my Saiga 7.62. I was looking at Rifle Dynamics in Vegas because for $400 they'll do the conversion, plus sandblast and refinish the gun, the kits range from $120-$200 so I figured it's not a bad deal, but local is always nice too!

If you don't mind the wait, Jim Fuller is the man when it comes to AKs. The Krink he built for me has been flawless - the molycoat is so tough I shot the gun with corrosive ammo (unknowingly, that "non-corrosive" Klimovsk is totally corrosive) and it didn't have a speck of rust on it inside or out after sitting for two months. I highly, highly recommend his rear sight mod, it makes the gun a lot more shootable. I can't wait to get back the three he's working on for me now, and I've got about seven more for him when those are done.

Locally, a few shops do the conversions. TBA Suppressors has done at least one, TTI has done a few, and I think maybe Zombie Defense has as well (but I can't say for sure). There are also a couple of AK guys down in Tidewater.
