This is a question about a range in West Virginia but since it's only around an hour from the VA border I thought maybe some VA locals belong to it.
I belong to a shotgun specific website and just saw a posting about the new sporting clays course opening up at Peacemaker National Training Center, in Gerrardstown, WV. It looks to be a short drive west of Charles Town, which takes me about 45 minutes to drive to from my home near Dulles.
Does anyone belong to this range? If so, can you comment on the place? The yearly membership is $400 + $100(initial fee). They also advertise volume discount on ammo for members. I shoot a lot of sporting clays and trap/skeet and am looking for a club that can provide volume discount on target ammo.
any opinions would be appreciated..
Thanks.

Not a member, but I shot an IDPA pistol match there last month. The place is new and still building out some areas. I think it's going to end up quite a place. Here is their Web site:

Thanks for the info. I will take a drive out there to look around. The yearly fee sounds reasonable given that they offer a lot of options to shoot, in addition to the discount on ammo. The drive isn't too bad for those of us in Loudoun County.

I'm a member at PNTC though I am still a resident of Massachusetts intending to relocate to the Gainesville area in the next six months to a year. I joined on my first visit back in february since they are intending to cap the membership and will probably reach that point in 2012 according to their estimate. This is a beautiful club set on 500 acres of rolling hills and woods. It takes me about an hour and fifteen minutes from Gainesville where I have family and visit often. Currently they have 8-10 action pistol pits (members only except during organized shoots) plus a separate public pistol and rifle range. They have one combination trap/skeet field and will be adding another soon. They also have 5-stand. Also a 1000 yd. rifle range. The sporting clays course will be state of the art. They have major support and funding from Colt and others. I shoot USPSA, IDPA, and ICORE as well as registered trap and a little skeet.

i assume you've been to bull run skeet/trap/clays/wobble center? i like shooting there and definitely closer than peacemaker if you live near dulles. rates are pretty reasonable also.
peacemaker is a pretty nice place. still in progress but they have 3 gun, idpa, uspsa going and i believe sporting clays also. also have two rifle ranges, one going to 250 and one to 1000 yards. their ammo prices (for nonmember) aren't too bad, for a gun store/range, but they aren't awesome, but if they give a big member discount maybe it will be appealing.

I shoot at Bull Run all the time, sporting clays almost exclusively but it is nice to find a gun club where you can shoot both shotgun sports and rifle and pistol all in one place rather than drive to one range, shoot shotgun, then have to pack up and drive to another range to shoot rifle or pistol.
