Upcoming Gun Shows and Events Ticker

I just added the Upcoming Gun Shows and Events ticker to the right menu area of the site. It pulls from the
VGOF Event Calendar and should list the next ten events, chronologically, from today (if I have it coded right!)
Everyone is welcome to add events to the calendar. To do so, just adjust the event start and stop dates when you post a new forum post. Please check the calendar before adding an event to be sure that your event isnt already listed:
http://vagunforum.net/viewcalendar.php
The calendar includes training classes, gun shows, shooting competitions, get-togethers, and any other events that are in the interest of Virginia and Firearms.
Please remember to leave the calendar widgets alone (default) if you are just posting a regular post. The calendar widgets are only available when creating a new topic - not when replying to a topic.
Let me know if you have any questions!

Is this the best place for me to post upcoming Appleseed events? We have a few coming up.

You can post upcoming Appleseed events in the appropriate Virginia Regional Forum.
http://vagunforum.net/virginia-regional/
Just be sure to use the calendar event start and end date fields. That way the post will appear on our calendar.

Thanks, will do. I am concerned that our draw is usually greater than just a single area of the state. Driving less than 3 hours to an Appleseed shoot is rare. Just not enough ranges to spread the love.

If you post in the region where the event is being held, at least it will be listed in the event calendar for everyone to see.

Project Appleseed is an activity of The Revolutionary War Veterans Association, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, dedicated to teaching every American our shared heritage and history as well as traditional rifle marksmanship skills. Our volunteer instructors travel across the country teaching those who attend about the difficult choices, the heroic actions, and the sacrifices that the Founders made on behalf of modern Americans, all of whom are their “progeny.”
Our heritage program vividly portrays the Battles of Lexington and Concord with the kind of care and immediacy that is absent from most formal schooling. Modern listeners are confronted with the danger, the fear, and the heartbreaking separations that arose out of the choices made on April 19th, 1775. They are also reminded of the marksmanship skills and masterful organization that ultimately helped set the colonists on the path to success. Those who attend gain a better understanding of the fundamental choices faced by our ancestors as they began to set the stage for the nation we now enjoy.
