Ruger LCR
I'm considering the LCR w CL to replace my LCP. Any likes or dislikes??? Anyone got a holster they like and use for carry with the LCR?
Re: Ruger LCR
I have an LCR, Don't shoot it much as I'm an Auto guy. I bought it to replace a S&W j frame that my Wife was using and with the intent to carry it, But I find myself carrying my LC9 as my Primary.
It's a Nice Gun and I really like it over any S&W J frame I ever fired, I like the idea of the Polymer Frame for carrying in Summer months when Sweat can be an issue and too be honest if I thought I was a better shot with it, I'd probably carry it more often, but I haven't mastered it enough to feel confident. My has the Houge Overmoulded grips (I think Ruger calls them 'Tamers') and I changed out the front sight to a Green Fiber Optic which made a Huge difference and I see is now an option from Ruger.
Overall I'd recommend it highly and even more so if you are a revolver guy.

Re: Ruger LCR
I have a S&W 642, but am very tempted to buy an LCR. The trigger on the LCR feels nicer than my 642, and as I understand, there is a slight reduction in felt recoil. The recoil with even standard .38 Special can be harsh in the 642 - manageable, but harsh. Ammo in +P increases felt recoil substantially, to the point many of my friends and my fiancée won't shoot the gun at all.
Re: Ruger LCR
bought my LCR .38 spl back in january. have only put about 50 rounds thru it but am very pleased with the way it handles - nice trigger and good sight picture. recoil was less than i expected from such a light pistol. mine has the tritium night sight.
since i figured a .357 magnum round thru such a light weapon wouldn't be much fun, i opted for the .38 spl +P version of the LCR.
i bought this as my main carry weapon. i pocket carry it in a Sticky Holster MD5. it fits in most of my front pockets and is very comfortable. when i wear jeans, i usually carry it in my jacket pocket. at 13.5 ozs. it's easy to forget you're even carrying. the MD5, like most sticky, pocket holsters, is also usable as an IWB holster. got the holster at greentop for about $24. not sure what i'll do when warmer weather gets here but am confident i can figure out something between IWB and pocket carry.
i would recommend the LCR to anyone who is a revolver person who is looking for a lightweight but effective pocket gun.
