Appointment of Czars by Obama

Post by zephyp »

Fellow citizens and gun-owners, as you know the president is appointing "czars" left and right to powerful positions. The big problem with this is that these czars are NOT subject to Senate confirmation or Congressional oversight. They are considered White House staff and immune from requirements normally levied on cabinet members yet they wield enormous power. To date, he has appointed approximately 31 of these czars. IMO, this is unconstitutional and is clearly a power grab and end-run around the separation of powers we are supposed to have between the 3 branches of government. In other words, these czars are Obama's private henchmen reporting directly to him and no one else. So far, he hasn't appointed one for gun control, but it appears there is no end to this. Where might it stop.

I've drafted a letter (below) and I urge each of you to send to your congressmen and both senators. Others too, if you are so inclined. Here's the draft letter. Please modify as you see fit. You will find contact info in the upper left hand corner of this page under the t-shirts. Look under Political Action Contact.
----------------------------------------
Dear xxxxxxx xxxxxxx,

I am writing to express my concern about President Obama’s appointment of czars to oversee various functions within our government. As you know, czars do not require confirmation of the Senate nor are they accountable to our elected officials. This is in violation of the Unites States Constitution, Article II, Section II which explicitly states:

“…and he [the President] shall nominate, and by and with the Advice and Consent of the Senate, shall appoint Ambassadors, other public Ministers and Consuls, Judges of the supreme Court, and all other Officers of the United States, whose Appointments are not herein otherwise provided for…”

To date, President Obama has appointed approximately 31 czars in various positions. These czars are chartered by the president to oversee critical areas of concern for the American citizens. These areas include disposition of Guantanamo Bay prisoners and facilities, the auto industry, the financial industry, the war on drugs, regulatory issues, and cyber security. The number of such appointments and the power they wield is unprecedented and clearly represents a power-grab scenario.

Our government is supposed to rest upon a foundation where the three branches have a clear separation of power. President Obama seeks to usurp this principle and execute an end-run around Senate confirmation and Congressional oversight.

I strongly urge you to take this matter for action - issue a call to stop these czar appointments, install Congressional oversight, hold Senate hearings to determine the suitability of these czars, and remove those determined to be unfit as administration officials.

Sincerely,

Thanks, Spence. I also noticed yesterday that Huckabee is beating this drum too. Obama is stacking the deck.

- He has a democratic congress and senate
- 31 czars accountable only to him
- sotomayor will be confirmed
- noh was confirmed
- cap and trade will no doubt pass the senate (largest tax increase in history)
- socialized health care is right around the corner (maybe second largest)
- he owns GM
- he controls Chrysler, BAC and other large financial institutions - who knows what else
- he has installed countless followers in key positions (these don't make the news)
- he has sided with the Pope and snubbed Israel
- he owns most of the major media outlets
- responsible for an FY 2009 deficit already over $1 trilllion (unprecedented)
- pushing mandatory "Service" Indoctrination of underage children in public schools

I could go on. What's next? Who knows. There was even a proposed bill introduced this past Jan to repeal the 22nd Amendment - presidential term limits. We can no longer sit idly by merely pouncing on gun legislation and ignoring other issues. If we want to have any chance of keeping America remotely like our Founders wanted we better move out now and rigorously engage the system.

Btw, you know we will get canned automatic responses like always. This is something else we need to address. How to ensure that these legislators are actually reading our mail and keeping track of what their constituents - we the people - have to say.

He;s been stacking that deck since day one,, Time is on his side at the moment for some things others not so much,,If the 2010 elections go well we should see some changes for the better,,The public is out of balance with the economy and unemployment issues. They are traditionally not paying attention, but will bitch the loudest when the SHTF, I was a union Ironworker in CT for years and we had the same issues in the local,,The non participants would gripe the most but get involved the least, I always had 1 question for them,"Where have you been all this time"? Never saw you at the meetings or doing a thing. My next reply to them was a flat STFU. We have all seen how BO want's things rushed, He figures that if he gives the sheeple more freebies they won;t rock the boat in 2010 and he can carry out his BS agenda, People are waking up slowly it seems but there are still too many sitting on their hands doing nothing, people like us will have to keep the pressure on and do the best we can to get them on their feet and involved.

We need to be very careful right now, Obama is carefully building his regime, all he wants right now is for something to happen he can use as an excue to declare martial law. From there all of his buddies in congress will be out in the cold and Bo will control everything. Since 1/2 on the military is black he will have plenty of troops to support him. So we need to make damn sure nothing happens to him between now and we inpeach me or vote him out!

Well said, He is definitely an under handed SOB, He will wait for his time on these items and then jump in with both feet, It's imperative that all citizens that value their freedoms and our way of life do all they can to stop this avalanche ride to Socialism and total government control..wether it be due to apathy, fear or lack of ability ,now is not the time to be indifferent, All citizens need to stand up and get involved,, It would be sad indeed to look back in a year or two and realize , Damn I could have stopped this!!!
