Pepsi's response...
Hi Clement, thanks for taking the time to get in touch with us.
We understand from some of our consumers that a Diet Pepsi can designed and sold in the Middle East and intended to portray the growth of active regional cities (such as Dubai) has been misinterpreted. We are deeply sorry to those who found this design insensitive, which was never our intention.
We immediately stopped production of this can as soon as this was brought to our attention in October, and took action to change the design. The new can, which features an abstract design, has already been issued in the Middle East.

Ehh...there's an airplane at the very top center of the can flying toward two high-rise buildings to the right of the plane... I don;t understand how things like this can get through design and quality control unless someone on the BOD says "We need to stir things up a little for some free publicity"dorminWS wrote:Ok, So what is the image saying? well, since the airplane is obviously flying ABOVE the skyscapers, I figured it couldn't be about 9-11, so I thought it was commemorating that Air Force One overflight of NYC purely for a photo-op of a few years ago that caused all the infidels in NYC to stain their drawers. Could it be the rest of the world sees those graphics as totally innocuous?

I didn't catch that either. What can you never have an image of a plane over a city again?dorminWS wrote:>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>allingeneral wrote:Ehh...there's an airplane at the very top center of the can flying toward two high-rise buildings to the right of the plane... Don't alow this sissy water anywhere near your bourbon - that's incredibly bad form. In fact, I think it may even be a documented sin.

After drinking camel urine, (which I assume you did so you'd know what it tastes like) my guess would be that almost anything would taste funny.

Bourbon in Pepsi/Pepsi in bourbon: Either one is a foul debasement of both the bourbon and the Pepsi. Both was made to sip over ice - straight.

Re: Boycott Pepsi!
I've always enjoyed my bourbon straight. Well, I did when I still drank it. Seems I like it too much, so I don't touch it anymore.
When I lived in Mecklenburg County, it seemed that ALL liquor (regardless of what it was; bourbon, scotch, vodka, etc.) was mixed with Mountain Dew. Blech.
That particular can of Pepsi up there isn't regular Pepsi, btw. It's that nasty diet crap. Ice will not help it to be enjoyable. Cheap whiskey is necessary to make that stuff potable.

I used to say that about Diet Pepsi. But then I switched to Diet in 1983, and now I think regular Pepsi tastes funny. All what you get used to.
