AIG Tactical had a great deal on Federal XM193.

Never initiate force against another. But should someone do violence to you, retaliate without hesitation, without reservation, without quarter, until you are sure that he will never wish to harm - or never be capable of harming - you or yours again.KYFHO

Cheap and reliable generally don't go together.

If you want cheap wolf/tula/bear is the cheaper end of things, and its generally found to function fine... might lead to needing a bunch of cleaning, but it is reliable.

IMO I'd rather spend the extra .5-.10/ round for brass cased, nato-like spec ammo to feed my stuff.

If you look for it, you can find 55gr brass / nato for very reasonable.

M193 @ wiedners http://www.wideners.com/itemdetail.cfm? ... 18|830|845
$0.265/round

Wolf is running about 0.230 / round.

Anyone who doesn't reload their own ammo isn't much of a shottist, much less a prepper.
