Which post count do we go by for the contest?

For the AR-15 contest, do we go by the post count at the top in the banner for it or at the bottom of the page? At the top it says 95257 at this moment, and at the bottom for the sites statistics it says Total posts 94070. Since this is a pretty big difference, which one do we go by?

I don't remember exactly, but I believe that it was specific in the contest rules.

The official contest counter is on the banner at the top of the page. All other post counters should be ignored.

OakRidgeStars is correct. When I get good internet access back (i.e. hurricane leaves and I get power again), I'll be removing the status count at the bottom, as it seems to be causing a fair amount of confusion.

So, lets say that I get the 100,000 post. Who wins...the one before or after me? And, what if I get the 100,101st, etc....and more importantly why is it that the white stuff in the corner of your eye disappears if you rub it between your fingers? (end of paragraph 4) IN THE EVENT THAT THE AUTHOR OF THE 100,000TH POST IS FOUND TO BE INELIGIBLE TO RECEIVE THE PRIZE (i.e., FAILED BACKGROUND CHECK, AGE RESTRICTION OR OTHER REASON, AS DETERMINED BY THE CONTEST ADMINISTRATORS) THE 100,001ST POST WILL BE SELECTED FOR TRANSFER AND DOWN THE LINE UNTIL AN ELIGIBLE WINNER IS OFFICIALLY ANNOUNCED.

5. DETERMINATION OF WINNERS: One (1) potential winner will be identified when the 100,000th post is authored and submitted on the VGOF website at http://www.VGOF.net. The 100,000th post is defined as the post with post_id value set to 100,000 in the VGOF forum database. The author of the 100,000th post, identified as the poster_id associated with post_id 100,000 (i.e. SELECT poster_id FROM `posts_table` where `post_id` = '100000'), will be unofficially named as the winner and contacted via email by the VGOF administrator.
