Re: For some strange reason
I don't wallow in anything. I'm the ultimate happy warrior. But I also am not going to sugar-coat the truth, and the truth is that Romney got three million fewer votes than even John McCain did. And that's the fault of those whom I blamed in my post above.
If those swing-state perfectionists had showed up for Romney, we would not only have the presidency, we would have carried enough senators to control the Senate. Then we could begin to repair the damage done by the Obamunists. Now we have four more years of destruction and fighting as an embattled minority in store.
Ron Paul is fine on many fronts, but he is a naive kook on international issues. He could never have gained the support of the conservative mainstream, and he didn't.
So I'm right, and I'm right.

Cain had a history of groping women and lying about it.
Bachmann is a nutjob.
Perry couldn't form coherent sentences.
Gingrich is...Gingrich.
Santorum was apparently running on the platform of the Magesterium.
Ron Paul was never given a chance because he proposed actual solutions.
The other two smart guys (Huntsman and Pawlenty) got chased out early for making sense.
So Mittens was left. That was ordained by the GOP machine; the media was complicit, but not responsible. Much of the lunacy from the primary came from the candidates; no one had to put words in their mouths.

The irony of blaming the media isn't lost either. I thought republicans didn't listen to the left-wing, "MSM," or whatever you want to call it? I also thought they were principled and actually listened to what the candiates were saying rather than falling for the propaganda? No, the candidates actually proposing solutions were not selected because they weren't gun-ho about nuking Iran and staying in Afghanistan for 1,000 years. They accurately acknoledged that you can't solve the debt and deficit crisis while spending hundreds of billions overseas to maintain the empire. Of course common sense sounds like those candidates hate American to the average republican. Shameful really.

This is true, it seems the GOP base wanted a freak show and got it, and the media went along as it always does with any story it can get; 24 hours is a lot of time to fill.gunderwood wrote:The irony of blaming the media isn't lost either. I forgot to mention the day Mittens announced his candidacy Sarah "Cult of Personality" Palin stole his thunder in NH which should have boded ill of the future ahead for him.
Those candidates in the primary...damn.

Bullcrap!
If
1) REPUBLICANS had all VOTED.
2)Active service members votes been COUNTED.
3)And well meaning people not placed de facto votes for Obama by voting for 3rd party candidates..
Obama would not have prevailed.
Chicago politics prevailed.

1) They did, there just aren't as many white males and evangelicals to carry the party as there used to be.ratherfish wrote:Bullcrap!

2) They were, or at least the Romney campaign is satisfied they were since they're not saying otherwise.
3) Romney also would have won if well meaning people not placed de facto votes for Obama by voting for Obama. So what? Each candidate makes their case to the people, and everyone gets to vote. If the people vote for other candidates that's not the other candidates fault, that's your candidate's fault.
For the party that talks about self-responsibility, it sure is funny that so many other factors were to blame for Romney's fault. The fact that the Romney campaign and even Romney and Ryan themselves were genuinely shocked by the loss shows how out of touch with reality the GOP is.
But hey, some people will always choose to live in the bubble."We went into the evening confident we had a good path to victory," said one senior adviser. "I don't think there was one person who saw this coming."

Ratherfish, you missed one:
If Ohio, Colorado, Virginia, and a few other states required a valid picture ID to vote.
In some counties in Colorado and Ohio, election results exceeding the population were reported.
There is a petition on whitehouse.gov demanding a recount that's about halfway to the required number of signatures. https://petitions.whitehouse.gov/petiti ... n/ZQmy0Mlv

If you don't provide a picture ID, they'll accept a utility bill or something similar. There are over 18 forms of non-photo ID that are permissible, including something as simple to counterfeit as university stationary used in a letter.

Re: For some strange reason
It doesn't matter about "parties" anymore....
Obama is the "LORD OF THE LEFT", and he had NO HOLDS BARRED on his attack... If you do not think this is coming.
God Bless Yer Heart.
I didn't "love" Romney, or George Allen... Absolutely LOATH Cantor.... BUT I F'CKING HATE OBAMA, AND TIM KAINE! I sucked up, and had to vote for Cantor because I knew the "Transplant/Carpetbagging Scum" of Northern Virgina would put those to asscrackers into office.
Sucks when you have to vote for who you hate LESS!

Re: For some strange reason
Romeny could have carried every state except new england and california if one little thing was changed.
People who are third generation single moms with 4 kids and 3 baby daddys, living in public housing, and have worked maybe a week in the last 10 years vote heavily for Obama ( see obama phone "person" in cleavland). If these "people" were not allowed to vote since they contribute nothing obama would not have had a prayer.
