Clinton got 183,108 more votes in Virginia than Trump did.

In the cluster of counties & cities in Northern Virginia that Hillary won, she got 333,528 more votes than Trump did.

In Fairfax county alone Clinton got 197,332 more votes than Trump.

So, if draining the swamp should cause enough of the swamp dwellers to leave Virginia and return to their home swamp, Virginia would, by my lights at least, be a better place. They have polluted our Commonwealth long enough. Send them back whence they came to earn an honest living.
Last Govt. shutdown was for 16 days, during which time a Guv-Mint worker was interviewed. "I'm gonna lose my house if this doesn't end soon!" he says. Now, everything I have ever read about home buying advises a minimum three months reserve funds for just such emergencies...These are the people responsible for maintaining our Country? Can't even run a household?

Some recent article I read, said a survey found that close to 50% of the population doesn't have what it takes to absorb a $400 emergency, and would have to borrow or sell something to cover it.... so... not just the fed workers.

If there is one "common core" type education item I could get behind, it would be an honest, "real-world finances" curriculum¹! And I mean "real-world"! Use the same style bare-knuckle tactics they used when they showed me slices of alcoholic's brains, smoker's lungs, etc. back in school! On a related note, everyone who applies for college loans or aid, should have to pass a financial class as a prerequisite.

My one fear would be that progressives would try to pervert it into an "economics" propaganda class, and/or that money-powers would try to convert it into a sales ad for credit services.

¹The young lady who used to live next to us, apparently didn't really realize the consequences of what happens when a balloon-mortgage, balloons! She took the mortgage agent's advice that it was what was best for her.
My grandfather said, "Always use your head!".
I told him, "I want to pound nails!"
He said, "Best use a hammer instead."

I've heard of folks placing boots in hock expecting they wouldn't be needed before pay day. They want beer money and are willing to pay an extra premium for it? I have no problem with that. Working at running a country and earning more than private sector for it? I expect a bit more than I expect from 50% of the population.

Also, this sums it nicely:
But not to worry. There will be plenty of opportunities for you to learn from your mistakes. You see, the battle that took place in your polling stations on the 8th of November was just that. A battle. We, the freedom loving peoples of the western world, well, we’re just getting warmed up. To quote the man: “You Ain’t Seen Nothing Yet“.

So retreat to your safe spaces, grab your adult colouring books and put on a happy face my special snow flakes because regardless of whoever/whatever you are and regardless of what nation it is you reside in, we, the deplorables, are coming for you.

This was a complete shock that the repubs won a clean sweep. I hope we get a good placement on the SC. Atleast we can get a good start at undoing the damage from the last 8 years.

Like others, I didn't feel like it was Christmas, (close maybe), but I am happy about the results.
