MDukes, I have a request and question about registering for IDPA matches there. It seems the link to register always show the sessions as being full, until maybe a week or two before the date of the match.

My request is to change the link to the match to indicate registration is not yet open, if it indeed has not opened yet, and to indicate registration is full if it is indeed full.

My question is, are any matches actually slated for 5/10? I see the range is closed 5/11-14 (IIRC), but it looks as if matches are scheduled for 5/10, but the links state registration is full.

I enjoy shooting matches there, and look forward to them.

I want to try SEG.

Can I shoot my shotgun there? Slugs only?

I just bought my first shotgun and all the ranges I've called will only let me shoot slugs. I really want to try shooting some buck and bird through it.

Sharpshooters in Springfield allows shot throughout weekdays or any other time if the range master allows it. Check with them.

Hey Greg,
Unfortunately the matches are indeed full when you are seeing them listed as FULL. It changes to CLOSED the day prior to the event and only allows registration through the facility. If you are unable to register in the future, please give us a call so we can add you to the wait list, should someone cancel last minute, or be a no show, we'd let you know to be ready to shoot.

As for Monday's match, yes it is still scheduled to run . We're going to be closed the rest of the week due to some extensive training going on at the facility, but we're still running the matches. I usually post the upcoming month's schedule the last week of the current month and send out an e-mail blast, so if you haven't registered for the e-mails yet, jump on that so you get a heads up on the next match registration. (bottom right of SEG's home page, above the hours)

I really dont think the matches are full when the registration lists them full prior to the match date, as I have checked it daily since the match last month, and the link ALWAYS shows them full . I am disappointed to hear the matches are full, for the following reasons: a) I have been daily checking the web site since the match last month, and the links have always indicated the matches were full, meaning I was never able to register for a match, and b) at the last match we asked the RO when registration was opened for the matches, and he said they tended to open up the registration about 2 weeks prior, but was real sketchy on what was going on and couldnt give us any real answers, but to just keep watching the web site, which I have.

I have signed up for emails, and I hope this improves the registration problem. Because to be honest, I'm pretty disappointed and the way the registration is being handled. Hopefully the email notifications will help.

Allow me to backtrack, somewhat. I had always checked the match status trying to register from the home page, on the left pane under "Upcoming Events". The status for all 3 time slots never seemed to change. I just checked the "Registration" link, and see the first slot is Full, and the next two slots are Closed. I wonder if the links on the left pane might not be pointing to the correct status. Anyway, I will be checking the Registration link from now on. Sorry for the negative tone of my previous post, just frustrated about missing the registration window.
