Hatfield's Gunsmith (Manassas)

If you got a good deal or great service from a shop or range and you want to brag about them, here's the place to do it. Likewise, if you are unhappy about someone's service or feel like you've been ripped off, we want to know that too!

Hatfield's Gunsmith (Manassas)

Post by nosreme »

I just picked up the last five of many guns Sam Hatfield has fixed, fine-tuned, or overhauled for me over the past 18 or so months. (One of those guns was a defective new fairly expensive 1911 that I chose to take to them rather than return to the same factory that screwed it up-and asked them to replace the "series 80" "firing safety" with a "series 70" trigger mechanism while they fixed the other problem; it's now one of my favorite guns). Every one of them came back with flawless workmanship and are better shooters than I am (but it sure is nice to own and shoot well-maintained quality guns). At various times I've stopped by just to ask what the staff must have thought were dumb questions but they always had time to share their knowledge. I might take my stainless and beaded Colt Rail Gun to them for cerakoting or blueing and definitely plan to take advantage of their new training simulator for AR15 sessions and probably others...as well as taking a basic armorer's course he's teaching in late September. Are they fast? Yes, consistent with their obvious philosophy of doing only top quality work. I believe Sam Hatfield was the Army Marksmanship Team's armorer for most or all of his Army career and I can see the attention to detail the Army demanded in the work he and his staff turn out. They have my business for as long as I'm able to shoot.

They did a fantastic job modifying my Colt 1991A1.
