Hillsville Gun Show and Flea Market

Post by allingeneral »

I just read a report on the annual Labor Day weekend Hillsville Gun Show and Flea Market, which is sponsored by the local VFW post and attracts thousands of visitors over the weekend. They also have a smaller show on Memorial Day weekend. This might be worth looking into if you live anywhere from Roanoke to Danville.

They have some deals at Hillsville Gun Show. It's worth the trip if you want to go to a BIG gunshow.

I've been wanting to go for a few years now. I've heard of those great deals on guns and ammo.

What's the set-up like? I've heard in the past that it stretches along either side of the highway. Is it like that, or in a big field? I'd love to head down there sometime.

The wife found out about this elsewhere, so, looks like we're going.

Anyone already been? Could really use some advice on good places to park, she's pregnant and I wont want her walking miles upon miles. Much thanks.

Hope many of y'all got there ! We always arrive Friday about 7AM, park near "Gun Alley" near the VFW, check that out and then pay the VFW $1 to go through their lot, very organized. Got a deal on some molds and brought back a Bubba'd Krag .30-40 this year. As you have discovered if you went, you can spend a day just hitting up yard/church sales near Hillsville - have found some of the best deals at those. The VFW building houses the "official' gun show, but Gun Alley and every where else is where you run into lots of goodies from private parties. We're about 145 miles away, but it's ALWAYS worth it.

Didnt know where to look for guns, so I didnt see any. Truth be told it was too far a drive and way too hot with too much walking for the kids (pre-schoolers with little legs) so i cant see us making it out there again. Shame it wasn't done during cooler weather!
