TScottW99,

Thanks so much for the kind words. We really appreciate the encouragement!

Just so everyone knows, we're not fully automated with the reply system yet, so it takes me about a day to log everyone's individual "e-ticket" numbers and reply with an e-mail. We respect everyone's privacy and will not post a "Thank You" message with everyone's name, on any of the boards. You WILL get an e-mail with your confirmation and your ticket number or numbers, usually within a day.

Don't forget to give us a plug on facebook!

Don't forget to share with your fellow 1911 enthusiasts, they'll appreciate the opportunity, I'm sure.

Best of luck to all!

Thanks VAman.... It'll make one heck of a BBQ gun, right?

Entries have been updated through Tuesday, August 23rd. Check your e-mail for confirmation and ticket numbers. Please don't forget to share the opportunity with your friends and fellow gun-nuts... ;-)

(Here's also hoping that everyone made it through the earthquake OK.)

Getting caught up on the entries from Friday and the weekend... Should have all of those confirmed by tomorrow afternoon.

We've got about a month to go and although we've received a tremendous amount of support, we'd still appreciate everyone's help continuing to spread the word. Even if you aren't in a position to contribute financially, you can still play a vital role by sharing our message through Facebook & Twitter.

It would also be a great help if you would e-mail your contacts and give them the opportunity to participate in fulfilling our mission as well.

Thanks again everyone!

Youg,

Thanks for the kind words. I can tell you that a year and a half later, Kara is still in my thoughts every day, but in her short 49 days with us, she had a big impact on a huge number of people. I suppose this effort is just a father's attempt to spread that impact to other families... We're actually very fortunate to have had terrific insurance coverage, but others aren't nearly as well protected, which is where we come in.

Your generosity and that of others will have an impact on a number of families and kids for years to come...

Best of luck to you (and everyone else too... )

Headed into the weekend and wanted to wish everyone a safe and relaxing few days off. While we certainly appreciate the support, don't forget to toss some of your spare change at the firemen this weekend. I've got a Ziplock baggie full of change in the truck just for that reason today!

All caught up on entries through Sunday afternoon now.

Have a great Labor Day everyone! (I'll be burning some meat on the grill for family and friends... )

Don't forget "Jerry's Kids" tomorrow and don't forget to tell your shooting buddies at the range about our raffle too!

Thanks!

Less than thirty days to go!

We could still use all the help we can get, not just in the form of donations, but also in the form of helping spread the word... If you are a contributor, please help by sharing the event with your friends, co-workers and other social organizations or shooting groups you participate in.

If you haven't contributed financially, but understand the goal we've set before ourselves to help kids who typically fall through the cracks in the system, then please feel free to do the same and share our mission and our event with your e-mail lists and various social groups as well.

You can find us on facebook and twitter through the website and your support would be invaluable.

Best of luck to all of you who are already participating and also to everyone on the forum! Thanks!

Done. Thanks for letting us know.

God has richly blessed you in your loss to be a wonderful blessing to others. My prayers are with you and your family.

Bob,

Thanks for the prayers... It was a very trying time filled with happiness, joy, sadness and loss at the same time. I have had to tell others though that the decision to be faithful was a simple one... In a very simplistic way, the "bumper sticker logic" is right: God is good all the time, or, He's not: Pick one and stick with it... ;-)

We chose to stick with Him, because never has he abandoned us...

This is the least I can do...

Entries through Friday Noon have been logged and confirmation e-mails have been sent.

I wanted to take a moment as we draw closer to the tenth anniversary of the attacks of September 11, 2001 and remind everyone that our enemies are not faceless and neither are the victims of the shameless act of war we know today as 9/11.

Please take a moment and consider the other worthy charities who focus on the families left behind by the Islamic terrorist attack on the World Trade Center, the Pentagon and the families of those heroic souls on board Flight 93 who fought back with all they had.

If you are not led to support our efforts at this time, that's ok, but please consider where you can do some good in the world and look for opportunities to help 9/11 victims, the Wounded Warrior Project, Fischer House or any number of other charitable organizations who look after those who had no voice in the decisions which have affected their futures forever...

God Bless America!

Thanks for the support so far everyone!

We're in the last three weeks of the event and could still use some "volunteer" effort to help spread the word. Feel free to e-mail us to see how you can plug into our efforts to provide comfort and support to these kids and their families.

We really could use a big push on facebook and twitter as well, so if you've thought of contributing, but finances are tight, here's a way you can donate a bit of time and energy and still make a difference without having to spend any money.

Spread the word to your friends and co-workers. Have your friends mention your name in the "Notes" section of the donation/ checkout page, when they log on to contribute. For every ten tickets/ donations you are responsible for generating, we will "throw your name in the hat" at no charge, but you have to make sure they mention you by your real name for us to be able to keep track of things.

Best of luck to you all!

UPDATE On Kara's HoPE/ Ed Brown Centennial 1911 Drawing:

We have been swamped with support and are plugging away with data entry, but we need to announce that we are forced to invoke "Rule 5" from the contest rules. This means that there will be a slight delay in the drawing till the 28th of October. We sincerely hope everyone will understand and continue to support our mission to help families and disabled children with Holoprosencephaly.

After speaking with Ed Brown Products on the 22nd, we were informed that the prize pistol is still out for hand engraving and will not be ready for the end of September. We have moved the drawing date accordingly. This is not a change which we have taken lightly, but regarding the availability of the actual prize, it was a decision we simply had to make.

Please go to www.KarasHoPE.org for information or e-mail us at: KarasFoundation@gmail.com

Thank you all for your continued support.
