I put a few rounds through an LCR .357 - it sure packs a punch, that's for sure. For its intended purpose, though, I doubt I'd pay attention to that when (if) the time comes that it's needed... Been eyeing one 'o them 686's myself....
Haven't gotten around to supplies for the hurricane. Will be good for a while, just in case. Might spring for some beer though.

I'm not expecting much impact here, so just the usual. Making sure we're stocked up on food, batteries, etc. Main thing I'm worried about is keeping my car out of the storm.
Storm's track has been updated since yesterday. Yesterday, they had the eye track directly over Virginia Beach. It has since been moved to the East a little, which is good news for Va Beach! (and the rest of VA, hopefully)
Looks like we should start seeing some rain bands Saturday afternoon up in my neck of the woods. Southern VA will be a bit earlier - maybe Saturday morning or late tonight.
That's my forecast anyway

That's good news. Up here we are only expecting tropical storm conditions, so with luck we won't lose power/internet because I have a ton of work to get done this weekend.
Hoping the rest of you guys in more exposed areas stay dry and safe!
And if we're all really lucky the storm will take the eastern-most track on the models and avoid major landfall.
Got batteries, and an extra battery operated fan...
I go camping, I've always got "survival" gear on hand... That being said? When Isabelle kept my power out for two WEEKS in the CITY(?!?!! ), MOVING AIR was the only thing I missed.
I have three BattOp Fans now... I won't be could, but the air will be moved!

You need to start carrying the Ruger 25 rounders I heard those are really good.

Ain't done a cockeyed thang. Ain't gonna. Don't hafta. Sitting here at 2,250 feet above sea level at the foot of a 4,300 foot-high mountain that's between me and Irene. We could go a week without outside help at any time without notice. It's liable to rain some by and by, but I've got a watertight @rse - - and roof. My biggest worry right now is all those NASCAR fans crazying around the track down in Bristol. Biggest trouble we have (besides the occasional tornadic storm from the west (which NEVER happened before last year, but happened in the County for the last 2 years) is a BIG snow and then a hard freeze. brings trees down on power lines, which they then sometimes can't get to to fix. Got 2-3 months before that's a worry. Thinking about throwing a no-hurricane party.
Firearms? Good news there. Supposed to be picking up a Les Baer 1911 tonight. Bad news? gotta do it at Bristol.

Gun-crazy? Me? I'd say the gun-crazy ones are the ones that don’t HAVE one.

Propane tank working--check
Bag packed for husband's departure on Sunday to turn everyone's lights back on--check
Bags of ice in ice box--well had to forget something didn't I!
