I'm currently looking at the Vortex StrikeFire. Any other suggestions or recommendations?
Also - do you prefer the open red dot sights or tubes?

I have heard good things about the Bushnell TRS-25($80-$90), It's basically an Aimpoint Micro knock off.

I wouldn't buy one for mil/LEO use, but for tacti-cool and range pinking they work fine for me, and the price point is right.
I've also got their t-1 clone on a MP-5 and love it.

I'd go with the Vortex Strikefire if you're going to be in that price range. If you could move beyond your price range I'd suggest an Aimpoint, as it will most likely last you much much longer and is worth the money.

Four boxes to be used in defense of liberty: soap, ballot, jury, ammo - use in that order.
If you aren't part of the solution, then you obviously weren't properly dissolved.

Ive always considered that cheaper things always cost more. Either they fail when you need them the most or they just break and you have to buy another one. My best offering would be save your money up and buy an Aimpoint. Its like a bee sting. It hurts for a while but after that you forget about it.

Thanks for all the advice.
I think I'm going to bite the bullet and wait on the Aimpoint.
Think I'll just use a bore sight to sight in the cheap-o scope and salivate over the Aimpoint website.

Well, there was no Aimpoint in my future, but there was no Vortex either. I ended up with an EOTech 512.A65 and I am extremely happy with the decision.

That was kinda outside the $150 range, but good choice.myehiel wrote:Well, there was no Aimpoint in my future, but there was no Vortex either. I ended up with an EOTech 512.A65 and I am extremely happy with the decision.

What did that Eotech run you? I keep reading great things about them.
