VA Constitutional Militia Muster - Sunday, August 2, 2009

Post by wylde007 »

If you are reading this I entreat you to respond regarding a preliminary formative muster for the Virginia Constitutional Militia. This initial formation will be informal and not militaristic in any way.

I am conducting an interest-survey to determine just how many people are patently disgusted with the course of governance, government and economy in this country and wish to do something more about it than fuss and grouse about.

I have not set a time or location, to be somewhere in the Southampton Roads area, until I get some responses. I would like to do this as a sort of barbecue/meet-n-greet.

Provisions are being drawn up for uniform and equipment, as well as formation of the Constitutional Militias of the Several States to be lawful and fully independent of the federal military, wholly dependent on the citizens and their effects to maintain and pursue. All efforts are being made to establish such under due course of federal and State Constitutional authority, vested in WE THE PEOPLE.

Again, this is not intended as a militaristic operation at this point. I do encourage anyone who is lawfully permitted to OPENLY CARRY a personal firearm if you should have one available to you.

Please respond to this note if you may be able to attend and participate or if you might be interested in more information. The abuses of government at all levels must cease immediately and the courses of diplomacy have failed utterly.

Deo vindice.

In times of state emergency and to repel invasion, yes. Otherwise it is in the interest of the people to defend and protect the republic from usurpers within.

Otherwise we surrender to tyranny and despotism.

This post has been flagged by multiple forum members. It is off-topic for this forum. There are many other places online to have discussions similar to this one, but it is not within the good order and discipline that this forum seeks to embody.

Certainly, our government is moving in a direction that many of us do not want. There are better, more effective ways to impose change upon the government than taking up arms and training for battle!

We must continue to contact our representatives (I know - it seems like a fruitless effort) - but if we cannot get them to do what "We the People" want them to do, then our recourse is to vote them out of office and hope that the next person in that office will better reflect our interests.

We need to discuss our feelings about the government with our friends and our neighbors and our co-workers in order to persuade them to contact their representatives and to vote in the next election and to pass the same information on to their friends, neighbors and co-workers. This is the true definition of a "Grassroots organization".

I would prefer that this discussion be saved for another time and another forum. The VGOF is not a place for discussion of this nature.
