over 18 under 21. can i transport a handgun to the range?
i'm 20 and plan to conceal carry when i turn 21 in the spring. i know it's illegal for me to purchase a handgun at 20, but is it legal for me to posse a hand gun until then? my plan would be for a parent to buy the gun and just give it to me. i wouldn't carry it on me, but i would transport it in its case to and from the range only. i want to be 100% comfortable with using my gun before i turn 21 because i'm transferring to ODU around the same time and will probably have to live in a crappy area near campus.

It's perfectly legal for you to not only possess, but to also own a handgun at your age! You just cannot purchase one from an FFL. You may, however, purchase one through a private seller.
