I've shot all kinds of Glocks, and the Glock 19 is my favorite. Its reliable, accurate, and sturdy. You won't go wrong with any of the Glocks.

I currently have two Glocks that I love a 17L and a 24C both long slides. But for c/c I really like the Smith and Wesson M&P subcompacts.

I have not shot one of the M&Ps yet but handled one at the gun store and they felt very nice in hand. Bulkier than the G26 so I opted against it, but the ergonomics were great.

I carry a 1911 at work, shot them all my life and my all time favorite gun is my Wilson CQB. That said, if I'm ever trying to CC it's generally a glock 19 and I don't feel a 1911 really excels in that role, at least not in the way the glock can. At the end of the day you need to find what is comfortable for you. See what you can conceal comfortably and still shoot proficiently.

I used to work with a guy named Jim Green who loved him some Glock 23s.

The 23. Had mine about 15 years or so. Best size/weight/capacity/power ration IMHO.You can conceal it anywhere if you go 1 size larger in clothes too.
