Found this by googling the name. Says the two were friends on facebook. Leads me to believe there is more to the story than first posted.
Maybe but then again most robberies are committed by people you know.

I was just explaining that to my kids the other day. It's not just robberies either.

CORRECT!

The first thing they taught us in CRJ classes was "IF YOU WORK A MURDER, LOOK AT FRIENDS AND FAMILY FIRST!"

I'm going to take a guess here....and say that the guy who shot Ross does not have a criminal record, but the brother he lives with, does have a criminal record....and that is why they seized the firearms to sort out the ownership. The firearms may have been in his felon brothers room or something (just a wild guess).
It also sounds like this confrontation could have been drug related when you hear about "suspected marijuana". That probably means there were trace amounts of pot found on the rim of the toilet or something. (and I guess it would be easy enough to get rid of your large stash before the cops showed up).
Regardless of the circumstances, some idiot kicked a guys door in with a gun in hand apparently, so it was a self-defense shooting.

Now that's not true.

And now that we're opening up restraining orders to anyone who asks for one, you don't even have to know someone to get DV'd out of your guns!

She beats me Tweaker because I speak my mind. (sigh)

Never ask an old guy "Does this make me look fat?" because the truth will be spoken.

Or more precisely, don't answer "In comparison to what? A hippo in a hulu skirt?"

That'll get ya' smacked...hard... often...repeatedly.

If that were the case the homeowner would be in a pine box and the badged thugs would be getting "atta boy"s from their peers.
