U.S.Postal Service is HORRIBLE!

Post by Reverenddel »

I get a notification from my landlord that he didn't receive my rent check. No problem, stop payment on the check, get him a certified check (my choice, to process faster), and get it to him.

So about a day later? I get a letter from the Department of Social Services (Not even REMOTELY THE SAME ADDRESS!) that they received my check in error! I have a typed letter with the check, and the date they received it. I have NOTHING to do with DoSS.

So I e-mail the Postal Service, and they say "(shrugs) So what?" in Federalese.

Really? You cost me $65 dollars, and now you say I should show the letter from the DoSS to my landlord so HE eats the cost of YOUR error?!?! :bangin:

And the post office complains about a loss of revenue.

Which I reply "I understand why people pay their bills online, and send packages with UPS/FEDEX."

Buncha jackasses.

I had a USPS Priority package destined for an Air Force base in Afghanistan...it had $300 worth of parts in it for an order that I had received from the military...the guy who ordered it emailed me two months after it was shipped to see where it was. I looked up the tracking info and it didn't even make it out of the processing facility in Sandston (Richmond)!

Chalk that one up as a $300 loss, as I have to reship the parts to fulfill the order.

These issues don't happen to me very often, but how can the USPS lose a box that's 12-inches x 8-inches x 4-inches?!

I had a similar tale when I was in Iraq. I purchased a welder online. About three weeks later I contact the vendor about the welder and he said he shipped it the day after I paid for it. He went to the Post Office where he mailed it with receipt in hand, lo and behold, they had no record of the welder making it out of the building. So he filed a claim with them for $400+, the Postal Service began an immediate investigation involving the theft and the gentleman shipped another welder the next day.
You just have to ask yourself, is he telling you the truth based on knowledge and experience or spreading internet myths?

NO, It is produced in 1945, had 500 rds throught it and has one bad extractor part to be replaced, and IS MINT!!. NO, SAYS REMINGTOM, it is in TWO PEICES NOW. They lost a check for 12k from a client of mine...that sucked having to ask for a new one.

Then again for what, 44 cents they'll mail your letter anywhere in the country, so, you get what you pay for.

I rarely send a check in the mail; however when I do it's insured, express mail, delivery confirmed to avoid what happened to you. Better yet, pay online, which is one of the reasons the USPS is losing money.

What do you expect from a government run entity? You get poor service, high cost and little to no means of retribution. My wife uses pay pal (online payment system) for any payments she can. Pay Pal works a lot like a credit card. They garantee (sp?) your satisfaction.

I decided not to use Gunpal after they felt the need to change their name to GPal.

They can keep their PC nonsense, and I'll take my business elsewhere.

O I hadn't heard about that. I think I would do the same.
