Walked into WalMart this evening to get some dogfood and pesticide (hate those darn ticks everywhere in the yard) to spread around.
Walked by the sporting goods section and saw a shelf of shotgun shells and other stuff marked down.
Couldn't resist some of those 10 round boxes of 3" 12 ga. shotgun shells. Got 12 boxes of 4's and 5's, 1&7/8 oz. shot, 1200 fps, mostly Remington but a couple/three boxes of Winchester for less than half the original price. $3.50 a box for the Remington ammo and $3.25 for the Winchester ammo. 13 boxes altogether.
Gotten some good deals in the past on buckshot and slugs, too, after deer season is over.

Must explain why tom was strutting in my fields yesterday with not a care that we were 70' from him.

Same here - one was preening in the front yard this morning. Took a good 30 minutes, either taking advantage of that early morning shower, or a rough night with the ladies...
Now is the time for all good men to get off their rusty dustys...
