New to OC

Post by Hpancho »

Well, I must say that this week was "uneventful". I OC'd in Norfolk (Wally World), Virginia Beach (Wally World two different locations), Hair Cuttery, and Office Max. Just some minor glances, but I have found that if you carry yourself responsibly, it eases their concerns.

Hats off to the gals at the Hair Cuttery. There was no other patrons except me getting a hair cut. They were chatting about daytime soap operas going away when I got up to get my hair shampooed. There were a micro-second that they paused, the continued to chat away. At Wally World in VB (I was shopping locations for 9mm and .45 ammo), there was a quick glance from the counter person when they were ringing up my ammo and noticed that I was OCing.

I must say that I was glad to get little or no problems this week. (*knock on wood*)

In truth?

If you carry yourself like it's not a big issue? They assume, and ASSSUME is the WORD, you're a cop.

If asked? I tell them I am not a LEO, just a guy. Usually with a shrug, and they ask if THEY can do it.

(wink) You BET! Get your training, buy your weapon, and wear that puppy!

Attended a black tie event at Chrysler Hall this week. Could not find their firearm policy anywhere online. The thought of attending in the evening then leaving late and walking to the city parking lot did not appeal to me w/o my 1911. I CC'd for the event. The only sign that was posted stated that illegal firearms where not permitted. Well, I carry a legal firearm so I was good to go. The late night walk to the garage was quiet. A little eerie, but I had no concerns because...

It felt good to know that I was prepare to defend myself if anything happened!
