I'm on the verge of picking up an old Browning Auto 5. It looks old, too. I'll set the stock/forend aside and maybe work on them later but I'd like to get the metal refinished and I've decided on parkerizing vs. getting it re-blued.
Are there any good places/shop/smiths near the Richmond area that anyone here would recommend?
Thanks.
Oh, parkerizing because the finish is pitted and has small amounts of brown color on the surface (old rust? old bluing?), someone has installed a polychoke on it that just has to come off and I'm planning on buying a synthetic stock/forend and a magazine extension tube for it.
Parkerizing services near Richmond?
Re: Parkerizing services near Richmond?
Give Rick at TTI a call 804-459-1190 I'm not sure if he does it or not, if he doesn't he can steer you in the right direction. He's just up the road from greentop.

Thanks. I'll check him out. I hope to get the shotgun before the weekend.

Thanks XD45acp. Looks like he's right down the road from me (I live just off Nash Rd.). I was thinking about a screw in choke set up, too. I'll have to give him a call next week when things get back to (somewhat) normal at the house.

This was going to be my suggestion as well. I've heard nothing but positive things about him.Vahunter wrote:Give Rick at TTI a call 804-459-1190 I'm not sure if he does it or not, if he doesn't he can steer you in the right direction. He's just up the road from greentop.
