Finally made up my mind and purchased a .45

Post by davasmith »

I have been looking for a good .45 1911 for some time now. Last night I pulled the trigger and purchased a Thompson Auto Ordinance 1911. It has the original wood diamond grips with the gold medallion in them and a second set of diamond wood grips with it. When it comes in I'll post some porn for ya'll to ponder! Thanks for all the replies to my inquiry about the 1911's. This will be my first 1911 purchase and most definitely will not be my last. :pistol:

Does it look like this?

Four boxes to be used in defense of liberty: soap, ballot, jury, ammo - use in that order.
If you aren't part of the solution, then you obviously weren't properly dissolved.

No mine is blued out, with similar grips made of dark oak (I believe).
I prefer the darker color guns, most of mine are black in fact. The gun pictured is nice though, and is the same design. My first big accessory for it will be a custom holster, then some night sites and finally some custom grips to match my Dan Wesson and AMT grips.
