Trumps stance on guns

Post by VBshooter »

An admitted supporter if guns on private hands ,The Donald does have some previous stances that bear exposure,,, THis is not to say he hasn't changed ,but if he even vaguely expects gun owners support he better make a statement and stand behind it,, I like many others will vote for who I beleive is going to do the job as I see it needs to be done,, Any candidate that can;t get behind the "ENTIRE" Constitution deserves no support and would be wise to not even attempt a run ... There's a lot of very smart people that have woke up since Obama and his merry little jackasses election waiting to throw them out next year,,, The Republicans will need a very strong candidate this time... No old farts, Old School thinkers, etc,,,

http://www.examiner.com/gun-rights-in-n ... gun-owners

Past statements and actions show Donald Trump wrong choice for gun owners

Trump has a record on the issue left from the last time he was thinking about tossing his hat into the ring.

THis will bear watching to see just where he will stand on issues we all support.

Much like Obamacare, we'll have to elect Trump before we will find out what's going on under that wolverine on his head.

The only possible explanation that I can come up with to explain Trump's popularity among GOP voters is the fact that after almost three years of Obama, American's are so starved for anything that resembles a leader that they are willing to elect this poofy-haired, wishy-washy, reality show clown as President.

Has it really come to this?. God help us in 2012.

I think GOP'ers are excited about Trump because he won't pull punches. He's the first person in any position of power (albeit name-brand power, not political power) who has come out and said that he thinks Obama is doing a horrible job and he'll do whatever he has to to ensure that he's not re-elected. I heard Trump say that if he doesn't get the GOP nomination, he will only run as an independent if he feels that he has a chance of getting Obama out of there. That is his goal. If he thinks that running as an Independent will only result in splitting the GOP vote and sticking Obama in there for another round, he'll abstain.

We'll see how all of that goes...

IMHO if Trump and odumbo are the best this country can do for presidential candidates then we may as well just all give up and lay down with brown bags on our heads. Sad, sad, sad....

One word: "PEROT"

Bill Clinton NEVER won by a MAJORITY! He won by a PERCENTAGE! And if G HW Bush hadn't pissed off gunowners in 89'? I suspect Clinton wouldn't have won AT ALL!

GHWB followed Bill Bennet's lead on firearms when Bennet head up the ATF... Hence, why we have to pay RIDICULOUS amounts for Legal Fully Auto, and have RIDICULOUS rules on the importation of firearms from overseas...

Perot would not have been a player because I know MANY gunowners who voted for PEROT because GHWB passed those gun laws.

Hence. we got the AWB of 92', and we got a GOP CONGRESS in 94'.

History...ain't it a bitch?

People are rallying around Trump for the same reason they fell for Obama in '08; because he's telling them what they want to hear, and by and large, they're just plain gullible. They just can't believe someone would look them in the eye and lie to them. Trump as a republican candidate will not garner the support of many conservatives or a high percentage of gun owners, and will split the ticket. Trump as an independent candidate will be a replay of Perot and split the ticket. Either way, it is very likely that BHO gets re-elected.

My opinion of Trump is that he is driven mostly by his own ego, and he's superficial. His positions are a function of a combination of whim borne of his own self-aggrandizing nature and massive ego and what he thinks will sell at the moment and not a consistent system of founding principles. It makes me wonder whether he's been subtly manipulated into his ridiculously artificial "reality" show (which is after all, run on NBC, - one of the big 3 of the "lamestream media") that's made him a much bigger celebrity and household name just so he's be in a position to appeal to the drooling majority and distract them from actually voting for someone who'd try to give them what they want and need. He's a mere caricature of a businessman, and will function the same as a presidential candidate.

I’m afraid the sad truth is that after decades of dumbing down of schools, media indoctrination, the decline of reading, and having their critical faculties degraded by the mindlessness of primetime TV and video games, a frightening percentage of the American electorate is just too damned dumb to elect a decent government.

I can only hope that Bozo the Trump stays around long enough to ask those embarrassing questions about BHO (Where’s your birth certificate?, How’s you get a blue-chip, Ivy-league education with a drug record and a crappy academic background?, How’d you get from defrauding tuition grants by claiming Indonesian citizenship, then working as a “community organizer” to having an income of millions per year?, etc.) and getting plenty of media attention paid to the answers or lack thereof; then gets out of the way so a serious candidate can run against BHO.

Hmmmm. Guess I sorta vented on this one. Well, as Grandpa used to say, I ain’t got nothing against that S.O.B., BUT………………
"The Bill of Rights is what the people are entitled to against every government, and what no just government should refuse, or rest on inference." -Thomas Jefferson
Gun-crazy? Me? I'd say the gun-crazy ones are the ones that don’t HAVE one.

Better to vent and exchange views than remain silent and hope for a better.. I have serious reservations about the man myself.. In his favor is the fact he;s not a career politician.. Minus;s ,he is saying a lot of popular catch phrase stuff with a record that looks a lot different. There will be a better choice and hopefully he'll be intelligent enough to step down and let the people elect the right candidate. someone that can do the job,has the conviction and courage to do what needs to be done, and is an example of what we can really do when called upon to do it. As I've said in the past, If the Republicans field a weak candidate and numbnuts BHO gets another 4 years ,we could damn well lose the Republic as we know it should be for generations....

At this point? I stopped being a "Republican", became a "CONSERVATIVE", and haven't looked back.

I'm kinda pullin' fer Anarchy at this point! Hit "reset", or as Bill Paxton said in "Aliens"... "GAME OVER DUDE! GAME OVER!"

Just fed up with the whole mess. I'm tired of the political machine, I'm tired of self-dealing, selfish narcissists, both on the poll, and in the voting booths, I'm just plain TIRED! :bangin:

It is a frustrating experience for sure... The momentum needs to get rolling now, wipe out the opposition in November and actually take the Republic back or We THe People are screwed!!!!!

Thank you for bringing that up, as that's what I thought as soon as I read he'd be willing to run as an independent. He's a wrecker - I would not be all that surprised if his current bloviations are all an act and he's working for the DNC or something. Maybe he's a stalking horse for someone who'll reveal themselves later.

Don't blame Bush for something Reagan did. Bush gets credit for the import ban (and Ruby Ridge), not the machinegun ban.

People are desperate for certainty and that's what Trump gives them. However, we all know that if by some strange chance he were electred president, he'd probably turn into a wimp overnight like all the other politicians.

Thats a scene from the movie Idiocracy...alot of people carry guns and not to cow others. Rather, just like in cartoons. Mostly to shoot them in the air when something dumb happens...in the movie everyone on the planet except the guy with the orange britches and a prostitute have an IQ around 75...even the black guy driving the bike who happens to be the president of the US...
