I went to the Nations Gun Show at the Dulles Expo this evening. I was thinking about getting an XDM .40 but did not have my mind made up. Before hitting the show, I called some local dealers for their prices and checked a couple of Internet sites, so I knew the street price. I had circled the floor twice, found several XDM .40's, but while some dealers had low prices and many dealers did not, I somehow talked myself out of it.
As I was heading for the door, I passed one dealer I seemed to have missed before. He had an XDM .40 for $55 below local retail and the lowest price I had seen on the floor. As I was looking at the gun, the dealer walked over and said, "I'm a member of the Virginia Citizens Defense League too." He had spied my cap. "I tell you what, I'll throw in an extra magazine." I hesitated for a bit, and so he threw in 50rds of ammo as well. DEAL!
It was Golden and Zimmerman LLC out of Ivor, VA. Not only did they have a great price and extras, but they provided a table and chairs just for filling out the paperwork, which beats the heck out of standing in the aisles with a clipboard. And Jim Golden, the owner, sat with me and chatted while we waited on the background check. Nice guy. I gotta give them a thumbs up on price and salesmanship. If you make it to the gun show, check them out -- look for the paperwork table.

About where was he located? I assume towards the front.

Yes, towards the front on the right (if you are facing inward from the doors). Kinda near the refreshment area, I believe.

Thumbs up from me on those guys as well. Bought my first handgun from them at the woodbridge show a year or two ago. They had the best prices on the Springfield XD's then too. Helpful and friendly.

I've bought a couple of guns from them and have always found them to be pleasant to deal with. Sometimes they're a little higher than Jerry, but generally in the ballpark.

Re: Golden and Zimmerman at Nations Gun Show
Went in there two days with a friend, the background check was taking awhile and then came back with a hit, we were told by the state policeman on the phone that this was common and would probably clear in a few days, the "gentleman" behind the counter who identified himself as Zimmerman advised that if my buddy were to decide not to buy the gun "wink wink" and hand me the money, I could buy it in my name and then once we were home, I could decide I didn't like it and give it to him, seemed kind of sheisty to me so we passed and bought elsewhere

There is a better way when a BC is delayed...I believe that federal law says that if a BC takes longer than a specific amount of time (3 days I think) then the seller can transfer the weapon without one...good luck finding a dealer that will do that though...
No more catchy slogans for me...I am simply fed up...4...four...4...2+2...
