I am looking for a .380 pistol
I am looking for a .380 pistol
I am seeking a concealable .380 for my wife. I'd like a smaller frame pistol that is black in color if possible. The price range I'm comfortable with is 150.00 to 275.00 and must be reliable. I'll pay extra for night sights already installed. Thank you.

I just finished an extensive (& I mean EXTENSIVE) search for the perfect CC gun for my wife. She is 5'3" 110Lbs so concealing in not simple.davasmith wrote:I am seeking a concealable .380 for my wife. I'd like a smaller frame pistol that is black in color if possible. She actually rented & shot at least 12 different guns in 38, 380 & 9mm. She didn't feel comfortable with the larger caliber guns. (she shot my 357 & my 40 cal). The choices were of course revolver or semi.
The 4 considerations were:
1 Feel of gun
2 Shooting of gun
3 Conceal ability
4 Price
The smaller LCP, LCR, & Bodyguards were too small & the recoil was uncomfortable. They are great to carry but painful to train with. If it's uncomfortable to shoot at the range she will hate to shoot it and thus she cannot become proficient with it. Also the iron sights are too small.
With a budget of under $300 the Beretta & the Sig 232 lost out. To make a long story short, she went with the Bersa .380 Thunder. She loves it. we blew 200 rounds through it the 1st day. We just came from the gun show where she bought 500 rounds for $120. Great little gun. Big enough to handle the recoil, small enough to conceal & accurate as hell. Extremely reliable too no misfires or jams whatsoever. It also conceals quite well in a belt rid holste & IWB
I would definitely recommend that she rent & shoot prospects until she finds what she feels comfortable. If she doesn't love it, she will not carry it.

They do come in all black ( my wife wanted it black) I bought it at Bob's Guns in Norfolk in matte black for $299
Good luck with your search!
My gun is like an adult diaper,
I wear it daily & no one has to know, until the day "crap happens"

+1 for the Bersa.
When someone tells me that they are looking for a reliable .380, Bersa is my suggestion. Well made gun from Argentina. Solid, accurate, easy to shoot, and it has a few bells and whistles that you can't beat for the price.
